You guys don't realize how little hype there was for Avengers 5 and 6.

Now hype is through the roof.

And if you think RDJ is going to play Doom forever and a multiverse variant is the final Doom then I have a bridge to sell you.

Is there really? The internet reaction to SDCC is just a bubble. We will find out when trailers start hitting.

Wasn't RDJ almost cast as Doom in the Tim Story Fantastic 4? Kind of a full circle thing there.

And yeah, this choice really emphasized just how badly they fumbled Kang.

Agreed. I was VERY skeptical about 2 new Avengers movies this soon. Now I'm pumped.

You guys think a variant won't be replaced by the real Doom? Seriously?

You think the Fantast Four cast are gonna recasted as well since they are variants? No of course not.

This is our cast. Same with NWH using the old Tobey/Andrew villains. For all intents and purpose we got our MCU Goblin and Ock.

The truth is it doesn't matter if they try and fix this later on. This IS our massive Dr Doom crossover story. Regardless if they bring in a new one later. They brought the REAL Mandarin into Shang-Chi. But that doesn't change that our lasting battle of Iron Man vs Mandarin was Iron Man 3 cause we won't see an Iron Man film where he faces Wenwu. Same here. It doesn't matter what they do later.

You guys want them to introduce Doom in one movie then boom he replaces Kang in Avengers 5 and 6.

That reminds me how BvS skipped the build up completely.

It's a bad idea.

With this move you build instant hype from the Endgame audience worth almost 3 billion and you buy time to introduce the real Doom properly.

FF starts filming this week. A rush job Doom is worse than so-called stunt casting.

Doom is getting the Thanos treatment which is the best we could hope for.

I have a comic con panel where they just announced him as Doctor Doom. I am very comfortable in this prediction. You won't get a Fantastic Four Doomsday on 2034.

This is doom. This is the big Doom story(ies). The same way Fiege isn’t going to bring in a Norman Osborn to the main universe I don’t see him doing a “real doom”. They decided to do a reverse Infamous IronMan it seems I’m not sure how I feel about it.

Oof, not feeling RDJ in the role of Victor Von Doom at all. I was definitely hoping Cillian Murphy or even Adam Driver got a chance at this one. I'll obviously give this a fair chance, but not so hyped for it like I hoped.

So they are getting rid of Kang entirely instead of recasting him. I don't think that's the right move. I would have gone with a recast of Kang and my top choice would have been Colman Domingo.

I gotta marinate this news for a bit. I've been prerty positive and a big defender of the MCU moreso than a lot of people these days. Yes they've had problems, there's no denying that. Yes some of there recent projects have had issues, some more than others.

Loved D&W, didn't entirety hate the idea of the Russos coming back, totally get they have to pivot the story for their Avengers movies. But this casting news is so off base, I have to call foul.

I'd love to be wrong though. Maybe in 2 years when I see this movie I love it and wonder why I doubted them. But for the time being, my hype levels have been severly deflated.

4. John Boyega
5. Omar Sy (would be a darkhorse pick for me)

Excited for the Fantastic Four, specially after seeing the drone show and Big Galactus pop up, hearing the music they used on Hall H and seeing the retro car flying but I can't get behind RDJ.
