All caught up with the show and I’m loving it so far. Them doing normal Muslim/Pakistani stuff has been a MAJOR highlight. Like seeing the mosque, Kamala and Nakia doing wuddu, Eid, the wedding, everything. Even how parents are just so… Pakistani. It’s so surreal watching that experience captured onscreen. Though I have to say, I’m definitely liking the character stuff more than the superheroics although I’m really curious about the origins of the bangle. Can’t wait for the rest of the episodes.

“I think that we went back and did some pickup shoots in which we were tying the story in together, and making sure that there was a sort of cohesive storyline that ran through. And I think that each, you know, sort of, with each one of the episodes, when you sort of complete the series, you go back and you just think about all of the other things that you could have brought in and done that. So we did a few pickups here and that.”

As for why the series ended up being pushed back to 2022, Obaid-Chinoy noted how she “[think it was the pandemic,” as they had lots of big scenes which “require[d]… hundreds and hundreds of extras,” something that became far harder with the COVID restrictions in place:

“I think it was the pandemic. To be honest, I think that the pandemic was so cyclical, that every time we thought it was coming to an end, it would re-emerge its sort of ugly head. And I think that there are some very big scenes in Ms. Marvel and that require, you know, hundreds and hundreds of extras and that are shot on location, and they're outdoors. And, you know, there is international travel and, and I think that putting a six-part series that is shot in multiple countries with diverse crews and multiple characters in a pandemic requires time.”

This whole thing looks really fun and a good way to have lunch with my nieces.

Also really good to see Kamala very comfortable and natural when it comes to interacting with other heroes. Can't wait to see this for real.

Ms. M has a similar baddie situation to CA&TWS, with a bland leader surrounded by a diverse group of non verbal street level henches. Not a great set up!

I actually think these are worse than the Flash Smashers. At least they had some masks from a design POV. These characters don't even have that and just look lazy on top of boring

And when the Flag Smashers took their masks off, they were super soldiers without anything that made them any different than Steve Rogers, which annoys the hell out of me and is one of my biggest fears about She Hulk. These villains are indistinguishable from each other power wise, which I find annoying. Now this doesn't apply to Hawkeye. Yes. Kate Bishop and Clint Barton are masters in archery, but I don't mind that because they are regular humans and it's a learned skill. It also doesn't apply to Loki either since many of the characters are basically different versions of one character. That I am fine with. And Kamala's powers are different from Carol's, which I am cool with (I just hope that Monica's offensive powers are different that Carol's and not just a carbon copy).

Other than the usual superhuman abilities, Carol can also go into binary mode, manipulate cosmic energy, has energy blasts, can fly and can generate heat. Now Monica can have all of those and that's fine as long as they add some of her comic powers too like her ability to change sizes when she's in her light form, the ability to turn into a solid form of light, invisibility and the ability to change her appearance into a hologram. Already, her intangibility is something Carol doesn't have but her offensive powers need to be different that Carol's.

It's what I fear about She Hulk, too many people with the same enhanced abilities as Bruce Banner but nothing that makes them different than Bruce. I don't mind it on She Hulk as I think she will have one or two things different than Bruce. And Abomination looks different than Bruce, which I am fine with. It doesn't need to be enhanced abilities, it can be as simple as giving them a weapon, or a different physical feature, like Bucky having a bionic arm, which Steve doesn't have.
