Marvel vs Capcom 2 on XBLA and PSN

Awesome, but from what I understand, its not going to be in HD right?

It will be widescreen, with options to make the Sprites look cleaner.

Filter comparison:

My team will probably be Ryu/Cable/Wolverine.

Here's a sample of the 3 graphic options you can select in MvC2.

So, no HD? Does upscaling to 1080 not count as real HD or something?

I cant decide if i wanna sell my Dreamcast version or not. I mean once this comes out ill never go back to it, but i dont know if i can part with it. I think ill end up holding on to it.

The best way to see this game's graphics will always be on a good CRT TV or arcade monitor. However, the filtering options are a welcome addition for HD users.

I think the crisp definitely looks better in those screens. Looks a lot cleaner and less blurry then the other two. I'll probably do a little of experimenting with all three to see which I prefer.

I'll probably do a lot of experimenting with teams, but the first I'll probably build is Miss Tron, Roll and Chun-Li. No boys allowed:o

I'm pretty sure that there will be a MVC3 in the next couple years now. This is just a little warm up.

I agree, I don't see Capcom going through the trouble to get the Marvel license back just to re-release this game...something tells me it's a hint of what's to come.

Hopefully there won't be characters like Wolverine with Bone Claws again. That was a lame choice.

Well, I was kind of wondering about the Wii, I know they have their WiiWare thing, but here we can the answer:

In case you, like many others on Capcom's official forums, were wondering if the recently announced Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network versions of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 might eventually make the jump to the Wii, Capcom's Christian Svensson chimed in with definitive reasons why you won't be seeing the beloved crossover fighter on Nintendo's console anytime soon.

"This is a downloadable play, not a retail play. We don't actually have any retail rights on this project," the Capcom corporate officer reminded disgruntled forum goers last night, adding, "And there's no way to get anywhere near the WiiWare file size limit here."

Svensson also explained that, with few exceptions, even the largest Nintendo 64 games were only about 32MB in size, so while sprawling adventures like Super Mario 64 fit just fine on the Wii's Virtual Console, a 2D arcade fighter like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is another story entirely. Wii size limits are said to be around 40MB, and a downloadable version of MvsC2 -- expected to weigh in at several hundred MB -- just wouldn't be feasible under those constraints.

So there you have it, resentful Wii owners. If Svensson's comments are anything to go by, then you should probably direct your complaints to Nintendo rather than Capcom.

Too bad for Wii owners who may want to try this, unfortunately.

No its not HD. It will output at HD resolutions, 720p/1080i/1080p, but the source material's native resolution is 480i/p. It will be similiar to PS1/PS2 games upscaled on the PS3 but with filter options to make it crisper

Oh, well, that's not a huge loss I guess. I mean Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix did look nice in its HDness, but it's not something that felt essential or anything. I can live with just upscaled graphics

No unlockables:
All characters, with all colors on all stages are available from the start!

Lame.

Wasn't unlocking stuff a huge pain in MVC2? Personally, I don't mind, I'm mostly going to be playing online anyway. I may go through the main mode for trophies or practice or whatever, but honestly unlocking stuff would probably be more a hassle to me

I love the fact that you don't have to unlock characters. I just want to play online right away, instead of being forced to playing single player games to unlock stuff. I still haven't unlock Seth in SFIV.

It was a pain. Im glad that they arent making us go through that again. I wonder what kind of game modes will be in this. Will it be like SF2HDRemix with just an Arcade and Local/Online multiplayer or other stuff as well.
