I actually can't take credit for him as Stark since I'm pretty sure Alex Ross used Dalton as a model for Stark in his Marvels series in the 90s. That's where I got the idea of Dalton as Iron Man..

Yes, big thumbs up for Sir Timothy Dalton.
Always was a favorite of mine & has the skills as an actor.
Liked him when I saw him in Flash Gordon (1980) and also a two time James Bond.
Who ,in my opinion, was much better than Roger Moore & Pierce Brosnan.

Dalton was awesome as Bond. Unfortunately, I think his Bond was ahead of its time in the late 80s. He's now been given a second look, and alot of Bond aficionados rate him much higher on the Bond scale.

But yeah, he's make a great Stark. He could be suave and tough at the same time. He also has alot of class too.

I would give you an A -
If I had to nit pick, I know Donner directed the Omen, so has experience in 'a' horror movie.
In the 70's I would have 'maybe' leaned towards Brian DePalma ,David Cronenberg or Wes Craven.
But again....nitpicking.

I basically just picked Donner because of the Omen. I'm not too great in terms of knowledge of 70s Horror directors . I think DePalma would have been an inspired choice and Carpenter also would have been very cool.

I didn't even know Cronenberg was directing in the 70s. He woulda be a great choice too. I love The Fly .

Yes he was around. His movies were not terrible then, but he didn't hit his stride until the 80s in my opinion.
