Lean? Absolutely. Scrawny? Please no!

This is how Spider-Man should be built, imho.

These are the eyes I want, in fact this whole suit is perfect for me.

Did the big eyes suddenly become the new cool thing to hate on?

I remember one of the complaints about the Raimi suit was that the eyes weren't big enough. Then years later TASM2 suit is revealed, and I remember the majority was in love with it. Especially the eyes. Now everyone all of a sudden hates the big eyes as if it's the latest trend. Why? They look great.

Spider-Man looks better with big eyes! They really express the youthfulness of the character. I will be severely disappointed with Marvel if they do not keep them.

I like the big eyes but we just saw them in the last movie so I think changing the eyes will help Marvel distinguish their new Spider-Man. Plus I think the smaller eyes with the thick black lenses give Spidey a bit of a sinister edge which is a unique look imo.

I feel we've already got a rough idea how he'll look. The cartoons at the moment are influenced in design and plot by the MCU. Coulson being the principle in Ultimate for example.

Yeh, he's probably gonna be based on that design, which is fine.

I think we can all agree that he needs a big circular back spider. If the suit somewhat resembles TASM 2 and the Ultimate Spider-Man with a circular back spider I'll be happy.

No hand stripes?
I'll be ok with that.

Not all.
I prefer the more spider looking symbol on the back.

That is one of the best things in Web of Shadows.
Costume design and color palette is awesome there.

I always thought the WoS suit needed bigger eyes and a cooler looking front spider emblem. Other than that it was aces, minus his voice.

He was ripped in SM1. Those were some very comic book-like abs when he flexed in the mirror.

Yeah, Tobey was shredded in SM1. I think he ran into back problems while filming Seabiscuit and wasn't able to get back into that ripped physique again.

BTW, your sig is hilarious.

I'd like it to be actual more cloth like this time, depending on if it looked good during testing, but I definitely don't want the raised webbing anymore or raised logos.

So this but with a bit bigger eyes for me. But I don't mind too much because all the Spidey costumes have at least looked close to accurate unlike a lot of others.

I want it to be made out of thinner material and lose the raised webs, moveable mouth too.

so we are all agreed...this is the new costume and actor shape...

This.

If they can remain classic, yet give us something new, I'd be fine.

-Smaller eyes to play on the "Hero or Menace" aspect.
-Black, printed webbing as opposed to raised.
-Vibrant red and blue
-Web-Shooters under the suit
-A belt under the suit for storing web-cartridges, spider-tracers, etc.

Seriously though, this thread is super nitpicky.

The Raimi suit and the TASM2 suit are about as accurate as you can get for superhero movie costumes. Sure, the shapes and colors get a bit altered, but again, nitpicking. Like if you're saying you want the Ultimate Spider-Man suit on the big screen, look at TASM2, because that's as close as any movie studio would reasonably get to it. The only real difference is raised webbing, logo shape, and the shade of the colors. That's basically nothing.

It's never going to look exactly like the comics, because that's a 2D drawing, and this is a live-action film. A major movie studio isn't going to make an actor run around in a cosplay suit. It's gotta have depth, look big, and look professional. So raised (or indented, as TASM1 had) webbing is pretty much a necessity. Same with padding in the suit, and raised lenses on the mask. Doing it without won't look good, and it's not happening.

It's all in good fun to be nitpicky. Everyone has different tastes on here--yeah, I agree that the ASM2 suit and even the Raimi ones are excellent renditions of the classic costume and a couple of the best CBM hero costumes we've gotten. That doesn't mean I can't discuss the changes I would make to the suit. Look at it this way, if every Spidey fan was told to draw how they picture their favorite look for Spider-Man, well, I'd guarantee it'd be like looking at snowflakes. Similarities abound but no two would be exact. I've been very happy with the Spider-Man suits in movies thus far.

So Amazing Spider-Man 2, with thicker lenses? Got it.

You guys can clearly see the differences between TASM 2's suit and Ultimate's. If you can't, then you are most likely in denial. The only similar thing would be the lenses and just BARELY.
