I think what appears in the trailer when he puts his head up is how they look wide open.

I'd say a possible advantage to the black stripes is when he's bending they avoid the webs scrunching. This has happened in the other films.

Finally realized what this suit reminds me of.

Web of Shadows.

I just laughed so hard at this.

Finally realized what this suit reminds me of.

Web of Shadows.
It reminds me a bit of Gerry Drew's outfit.
But EGADS, Alchemyst was right in using a WoS avatar assuming it is how the movie suit will look like.

You know what I just realized? No a single manip and or peice of fan art was anywhere near close to the design we ended up getting, We kept expecting them to do a super drastic change. I.e, web pits, no arm lines, no red on boots, or messy webbing. But what we got was a basic rip from the classic comics with barely any changes.

Actually, I got the arm stripes right on my later designs. If you go back and look at them, I drew it VERY similiar to the costume.

Marvel distracted us of what they were going for. The CLASSIC SUIT.

I really hope that Peter made his own costume in this, if he's smart enough and skilled enough to create his own web shooters (and possibly the web fluid itself), then he should be capable of making his own costume.

well I'm pretty sure there are a few spiderman costumes in the movie and Kevin Fiege said something along the lines of his first costume looking like something a 15 year old would make. I have a feeling his first costume will be similar to Ben Reilly scarlet spider and then he makes this costume with Stark.

Basically. Marvel Studios pretty much adapts their source material spot on with an exception of a twist, or innovation. Should've known they'd make some slight changes such as the bands and additional lines. Love the logos on both sides, though. Gimme an HD full body shot! (that's what she said.)

S*** just got serious with those lenses.
Finally, cbm's are really getting into the grove of eye sfx and this is easily one of my favorites due to the practical adaptation.
Got the sense that break-up of red & black was predicted somewhere, but I do love this execution.
Now on to the portrayal...

The suit is definitely growing on me. At first I wasn't a big fan of the eyes or the small chest spider, but not I'm digging the eyes but I would have liked a bigger spider on the chest. Anyone have a good picture of the tick spider on Spidey's back?

Spidey's back logo ticks all the right boxes.

I made a few changes, but very lazily. I pretty much just used the "content aware" tool in PS for everything without doing any refining. I really wanted the eyes to look more reflective too, just because the absence of a reflection adds to the 'flat' CGI-y appearance:

That looks Better!!

I wouldn't mind seeing that manip with the original lenses.

You up for it, spiderall?

I love how classic the costume is. Though I'm still on the fence on the small emblem and the eyes. The idea that the lenses act as apertures that can narrow and widen is an interesting idea and of a piece with Peter's photography. But I don't know what the point of it is. It contributes to the digital sheen it has, at least in that shot.
