Homecoming Marvel's Spider-Man Costume!? - Part 3

I don't want his homemade costume to look as lazily put together as the Raimi wrestling suit or the Vigilante get-up from TASM1, I want to see at least a little bit of craft similar to the Rose davies concept art (the third image with the goggles) or Bosslogic's fanart.

But I do agree that his homemade costume should look substantially different from the final suit (although it should be used as a template).

i still like my idea of his prototype suit being something akin to quicksilver aou outfit and kickass outfit. Where we have the classic elements we want out of the suit. But looks that homemade real feel a kid with limited funds could take other stuff and modify. Then THE SUIT being better materials and that hollywood look.

I don't know, perosnally, I feel they should start with the bigger eyes. I explained why in a previous post on the last page if you wanna read it: http://forums.superherohype.com/showpost.php?p=32098283&postcount=907

That's all well and good, but I'd prefer the smaller eyes to start to give the illusion that Spidey is an adult and not a kid. Plus, I've always liked the approach of having Spidey be deemed as a menace and his suit reflecting that. Once the NY citizens start appreciating him, he embraces the "Friendly Neighborhood" approach with the bigger eyes.

Either way, we've just seen the bug eyes last year and I'm doubting we'll see 'em again. At least not for a while, anyway.

We've also just seen Peter Parker for the past decade plus and we're gonna see him again :oldrazz:

I'd still like to see eyes that change size and move with his expressions

but I know that seems impractical for live action

It really isn't needed for live action and just breaks reality in costume.

looking at some old concept art...

are these too big?

(just the eyes, not the color/style on mask it self)

or for smaller... maybe something like this?

or this?

(again just the eyes)

It just look odd compared to rest of the mcu. Unless it was some sort of retractable lens like how iron man face plate is. And deadpool is a different care as he will 4 th wall break and they cgi the eyes. Which I doubt marvel wants to waste time and money on. Eyes likely just be what it has been on film.

see that's kinda what I want them to shy away from... the solid set shape plastic frames, with reflective glass/plastic(whichever?) lenses
(also lose the face plate under the mask)

its very limiting(which is also probably why Peter was always losing his mask, in the other films)

people keep saying they want Peter to be funnier, but how can you be funny with a set expression on your face

not saying go full cgi with them

it can be done with practical effects

How though? With deadpool he still has a human eye shape and he can emote because the mask moves like eyebrows, but you don't have that with Spidey so it's more jarring

This is probably what's likely to happen. I've been saying for the longest time now that it's more likely that we're going to get the smaller eyes just because Sony & Marvel are definitively going to want to differentiate this new MCU version of Spider-Man from Garfield/TASM's version of Spider-Man as much as possible, plus we've never seen the Ditko/Romita/Scott Campbell slanted eyes in live action before and think Pascal/Feige will be inclined to try something different... so yeah.

My bet is that we'll get something similar to this:

I actually really like that idea. I'm fine with either.

I can see it being kinda jarring if its like going from huge bug eyes to tiny squinty eyes

but I'm just saying give him a fitted mask, with flat flexible (even rubbery) material round the eyes (instead of stiff plastic) so the mask an eyes move more with his facial movements... even if its just the black board around the eyes that expand a little with his expressions (instead of the white/lenses) it would be something

If you do that makes it harder for actor to see. Unless they don't have anything in eyes and it's cgi. But why waste money on thst. It's more then likely be like raimi and Web suits in the eyes and be actual lens.

They're pretty much the same exact lenses used on TASM2.
