Comics Mary Jane 's impending divorce from Peter

Except that was very well done, and didn't ruin his marriage, like this likely will. :csad:

I said it was an idea...not a well-thought-out plan! :cwink:

Seriously, Norman knowing isn't the only person I would want to continue knowing. Daredevil, Human Torch, Mary Jane and even Aunt May all knowing really makes sense to me, but, a mind-wipe is a mind-wipe....and it would probably have to be universal.

As for Gwen and/or Harry returning...that's the thing...I'm frightened they'll use this as their one excuse to do so.

That's a real panic attack for me as well.......If Norman doesn't know Spidey's identity, Gwen doesn't die...... without it seeming extremely contrived that is,

Mindwiping really opens up a Pandora's box of problems......which is why I'm starting to wonder if that really is the route Marvel's going?

Just a thought that occurred to me....I'm no Clone saga expert so bear with me.......if Marvel mindwipe and Gwen lives, does that essentially wipe out the Clone Saga?.....wasn';t it Warren's love of Gwen and her subsequent death, that made him develop the clones in the first place?

Yeah, thankfully for the Flash.

-Cringes- Joe Q. is just bringing out the ticked off fans more and more. Makes himself even more of a target with his work on it.

I have this truly morbid curiosity about what stories Marvel just HAAAAAAAS to tell without Peter being married. Since they feel they're all out of stories to tell and the marriage just ties him down too much. In the end, I think they'll all be stories that could have been told with the marriage intact.

I'm almost curious enough to buy comics after OMD. But not that much. If anything, I might read them in the store. I feel bad that my LCS won't get my business; they're good people, very friendly to women and kids. Hey, JQ! Now you're hurting innocent comic shops! :o

I'll end up getting it in trade after I sit down with it in the book store, but beyond that I'm already not happy with the whole seperation scernaio.

If they wanted to take these weird routes... why didn't they worked them out through What If? issues instead of effing up the regular continuity...

Because frankly Joe Q is an idiot head, that wants things his way and doesn't listen to us fans, just like the film studios.

Besides that there were only vague What If arcs brought back for one or two months and that was it.

All we can do is hope we get the John Bryne and Clone Saga approach when it comes down to this mess.

I don't know have much of an exact science 'mind wiping' is but isn't it possible to mind wipe everyone's knowledge post the public unmasking. Thus keeping Peter's identity secret to everyone except those who knew prior to the public unmasking.

Peter would be happy to agree to this because it means MJ and May wouldn't be in danger from revenge minded foes.

Then split up Peter and MJ via another means - I wonder if its something MJ does rather than Peter - in the ultimate act of love for Peter she agrees to something (a deal with a devil?) that will save May but means sacrificing herself (not literally) and ending the marriage as a result.

I have a horrible feeling OMD isn't going to retconn anything or even reboot anything, but is simply a way to make Peter single again. I don't think the other, SP etc will be erased simply 'not mentioned' again a la the clone saga
