Arrow has found its big bad for season three.

Matt Nable (Riddick) has been tapped to play DC Comics villain Ra’s al Ghul on Arrow, EW has confirmed.

Considered to be one of Batman’s greatest enemies in the comics, Ra’s al Ghul is the leader of the League of Assassins and the father of Nyssa al Ghul. Proud and unforgiving, Ra’s is a ruthless strategist, a master of martial arts and a shaper of history. He carries the wisdom of the ages and protects some of its greatest secrets.

Nable, who will recur throughout the third season, will first appear in the fourth episode, “The Magician.”

Ra’s al Ghul was most recently portrayed by Liam Neeson in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.
Arrow returns Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. on The CW.

Ra's should be more regal. This guy doesn't look it and I kind of doubt he can play it.

Oded Fehr is far from a big name and I'm almost certain they could afford him and then some.

They got Barrowman, they could get Fehr.

IOn regards to this casting I kinda see it. Also he is Australian, in his 40s and appeared alongside Manu Bennett in a Australian tv show. He even reminds me of Manu alittle...maybe they have a type?

Have you thought that maybe Oded Fehr was never in talks and that was just been fan talk right? Also my mistake I confused Oded with Faran Tahir in Supernatural.

Anyways I think this guy could pull it off.

The people hating this are people either basing their opinion on some requisite they had in their mind or they had their heart set on someone else. Because don't think for 1 second that they had him for a quick audition and then decided on him, DC signed off on him. Which means they liked what they saw. But there were also lots of people that hated Manu Bennett being cast as Slade and in the end most of them ate their words.
