No, it isn't. With this franchise's track record wait until he starts filming.

From all of Reeves' films I've only seen The Pallbearer and Cloverfield, so I don't really care either way.

Then someone might as well change all the properly named DCEU threads to remove cast/crew names, just in case anyone and everyone choose to drop out.

Well, well, well. Good to see the two sides come together and make The Batman official. ONWARD!

Well I'm glad to have been wrong. Let's just hope WB doesn't **** this up now.

Reeves, you're gonna have to be mother****ing Neo in this situation, because the bullets are coming for you.

You should do yourself a favor and watch Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

I'm happy Reeves is doing this. But where's Affleck's name in the press release? Is it just a given that Ben is Batman (from their perspective, so they don't feel the need to include him?). Or do they not know yet. Or they know they're recasting and can't say until after Justice League?

Either way, this means Reeves may have signed for multiple films. And maybe he got his way with filming this later this year.

Good for Reeves*. [*l bet that JMC will come back with another doomsay snippet about DCEU. lolololol]

Is that the James Franco one? I was put off the new ones because of the CGI apes, but I could give it a watch.

WB just clarified that Affleck is still attached.

Franco was in the first film of the new series, Rise. Dawn was part two of the trilogy. War comes out this summer, also directed by Reeves. Nothing to be put off by honestly, the CGI/motion capture in these films especially Dawn has been amazing.

Both Rise and Dawn are great Apes movies.

Cool. If they cannot have Affleck do it himself, Matt Reeves is a REALLY good backup choice.
