I think he's a strong possibility. And yes, based on the other names being bandied about at the moment, I'm kinda rooting for him as well. I don't give a **** about height. He's an inch shorter than Keaton. Give him an intimidating costume/cowl, let his intensity take over, and he'll be plenty intimidating.

I said I think he's a strong possibility. It's just my opinion. There was a report back in October that he was Reeves' top choice, it persisted as recently as a few weeks ago, and I personally believed it just based on what I know about Reeves - he seems like he'd be his type - and I also believe these reports now that his picks are all aesthetically "unconventional" which again, sounds like O'Connell to me.

Had to Google him. He was in the TV show "Skins" which I watched a lot 5 years ago. Knew his name was familiar.

I'd rather this have nothing to do with Affleck Batman or the current DCEU at large.

would prefer it to either be the start of a full on reboot of the DCEU or else a self contained series like the Nolan Bat flicks.

I'm just tired of the current DCEU and want something different.

Yeah, he's not my top pick for the role or anything, but if Reeves picked him I could dig it. Regarding the height thing, I've always seen Batman as more of a ninja type, so I never was into the Frank Miller hulking beast Batman. Ninjas are not traditionally big dudes. I like the original Bill Finger and New Frontier-esque aesthetic of Batman, and am keen on the idea of him being one of the smaller members of the Justice League, emphasizing the whole "mortal among gods" dynamic. So I don't need a tall guy playing him at all.

as a short guy myself, I for one am in favor of a shorter Batman.

and if you think about it, being smaller in stature would actually work in Batman's favor. If you watch America Ninja Warrior, you'll see large size actually can be a disadvantage to someone who has to run, climb, swing, etc., due to the extra weight they have to carry around.

Batman is basically an urban ninja warrior. So smaller stature would work in his favor as an athletic, mobile, martial artist.

someone who is 5'8" to 5'10" would work better than someone who is 6'3", imo.

Because some people don't believe Batman needs to be a giant. Bruce Lee is one of the ultimate cinema badasses and he was 5'7".

The main quality the actor playing Batman needs is the ability to come across as dangerous. Find someone who is believable when being threatening, and height/weight/chin size don’t matter at all.

Reeves is known for concentrating on character, so I have every expectation that his Batman will fulfil the right requirements for the part.

We’ve had several years of style over substance. I’m looking forward to having things go back to the other way around.
