Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

has everyone on marvel comics been on the Avengers team or what? :funny:
so many random choices and too many x-men to my taste

Is Xmen 97 the only Marvel studio production NOT set in the MCU? Feel we should get more of these.

Starting to get that early convoluted/over populated/all over the place vibe from the MCU

For some reason, Wolverine has been in pretty much every Marvel team in the comics. Im glad the MCU may not go long enough for us to see some of the Shark Jumping moments from the comics

Yeah, him and Spider-Man are on everything. I think the two of them and Storm are the characters that have been a member of each of the big 3: Avengers, X-Men and Fantastic Four.

There are a lot of Avengers.
I didn't even mention whose are in the X-Men, F4 and Inhumans eXcept for some.

Squirrel Girl, she needs a movie!

Also this makes my point clearer. We are in year two of D+ Marvel shows and Marvel already ordered at least 15 shows. So I can't see why they couldn't make a solo Xeries for 20 X-Men in a span of decade or two.

It must have been bad.

I can't see why Disney couldn't find a home for it if it was any good.
Maybe. The showrunner also said a studio executive sabotaged them because the show was "too gay" or something iirc. I'm just curious to see for myself.

The Midnight Suns Rise Again in New Comic Series

Interesting. Usually (but not always) there's a degree of synergy between what happens in the books and Feige's plans for the MCU. Will we perhaps be seeing a Midnight Sons movie or series?

If it's a show, I'd prefer to see it on Hulu instead of D+. I'd like a grittier Midnight Sons than what we've seen so far on the streaming service...

Could also just be for synergy with the 2K video game, but I do expect to get some kind of Midnight Sons/Suns in the MCU eventually. But probably only after characters like Blade and Ghost Rider have been introduced.

It'll be on Disney+ either way for everyone outside the US.
And the former Netflix shows went to D+ with added parental controls in the US because of Marvel synergy on the platform right? So it might even be possible to have on D+ even if it's grittier.

I'm not sure how I feel about the change from Sons to Suns. I guess it's more gender neutral, but I also feel that name was specifically made for the plot of the game having something to do with the heroes all getting sun-magic or something.
I don't like Wolverine on the team at all, but Magik, Nico Minoru, Kushala and Zoe Laveau are all choices I really like.

Also interesting how Kushala seems to take center stage almost as much as Robbie recently.

At this point Marvel Studios streamlined everything. I think Hit Monkey might be the last Marvel show not to debut on D+.

I feel like this is much better unlike when we got different shows in different networks. Longer episode order too. Abc, Hulu, Freeform, NetfliX, FoX and fX. They were all over the place.

Sounds like we may get a Phase 4 (and beyond?) announcement slate at D23 similar to the phase 3 announcement in 2014 where they mapped out the release timeline from Civil War to at the time "Infiniy War Part 2" (which became Endgame) that will confirm the direction the current phase is going.

As we’re nearing the end of Phase 4, I think people will start to see where this next saga is going. I think there have been many clues already, that are at least apparent to me, of where this whole saga is going. But we’ll be a little more direct about that in the coming months, to set a plan, so audiences who want to see the bigger picture can see a tiny, tiny, tiny bit more of the roadmap.

Very excited for this then. I’ve been wanting an update on the overall direction for a while.

True. I had no clue what was releasing where and how to get some of those platforms in the UK before.

I can see the rest of the slate being Disney Plus shows, with the final movie for the theaters being an Avenger movie about the multiverse

I wonder if they'll announce everything together or whether they may announce the D+ shows in advance. Disney+ Day is the day before D23 starts so they might already announce things there. I imagine they'll already announce Werewolf by Night in advance since they'll want people who look for D+ day news to know it'll be on D+ very soon. Other than that it's possible they'll just give more info on the previously announced stuff (What If, the GotG holiday special, Secret Invasion, Echo, Loki, Ironheart, Armor Wars, Agatha: House of Harkness, Spider-Man: Freshman Year, Marvel Zombies, X-Men '97) on D+ Day and announce new stuff (Wonder Man, Daredevil, Nova, Wakanda, etc.) at the Marvel presentation for D23 proper.

Yeah, aside from announcing wholly new projects which I’m very much looking forward to, there are lots of already-announced projects which we could do with more info on.

When you see all the upcoming D+ shows listed (especially the newly announced stuff), I find it really hard not to get excited...

I'm especially pumped for Wonder Man, Daredevil, and Nova :hrt:

There are so many projects already reported to be in development, but not officially announced yet, and so many rumoured projects that they seem to be building up to like Young Avengers, Midnight Sons or Secret Wars.

I wonder if there's going to be any surprise. Something no one is expecting and what would that be.

Thank goodness Phase 4 is nearing its end even though it only started last year... its just the amount of Xeries just made this phas4 feels longer than it is.

Yeah, same here. Really feels like the universe is expanding quickly now and anything has at least a chance of getting greenlit for a show. I love seeing lists like that. I’m also definitely excited for the 3 you mention.

This new saga better not be the "Multiverse" saga. I know there are lot of things they could do with the Multiverse but they are handling like a dozen ips for phase 4 to 5. So I'd rather not see more of these variants/clones til phase siX.

We are already in the Multiverse Saga

I’m all excited for the Wakandan series…hope they use the budget well

I hear ya, I'm honestly pretty over the variants thing already

Between the SpiderVerse->WhatIf->SpiderMan->Strange combo, and Flash still [possibly] on the way, I think I'm good. Let's not rehash and reuse characters who appear for 5 seconds, let's move on and find the new actors to reboot them.

I'd prefer a "cosmic gods" saga, with Celestials, Earth's various pantheons (whichever ones survive Gorr), Galactus, Apocalypse, maybe the Kree and Skrull gods getting involved in The Marvels, possibly a god-powered Doom ala the new Secret Wars... that sounds like more fun than "Hey, remember when Dolph Lundgren was Punisher? Well here he is!"
