Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

 Can we consider that official confirmation that they'll be there?
Pretty much. This is what Feige said last year about skipping Comic Con.
That’s one of the main reasons we’re not going to Hall H this year,” he continues, “is because Ant Man & the Wasp will have just been released, Infinity War will be out, Captain Marvel will have just finished filming, Spider-Man will have just started filming, and we’re not gonna be making any other announcements. So we’re gonna wait until Comic-Con next year.”

Which is this year’s Comic-Con. So yeah they’re coming this year.

 I'm just hoping there's at least one unexpected thing.

I hope there's more than just info on the films we already know.

Yay can't wait for Black Widow, the Eternals and Shang Chi to assemble in Hall H.

Predictions for what Marvel will do at this year’s Comic-Con:

- Black Widow will be officially annouced along with some footage shown. Some concept art is shown. Cast will be brought on stage.

- Official announcement of the Eternals and the cast will be brought on stage. Concept art is shown.

-Official announcement of Shang-Chi. Feige announcing who will play the title character(as well bring the actor on stage) and reveal some concept art.

- Announcements of Doctor Strange and Black Panther sequels. As well as a sequel to Captain Marvel.

Predictions for what Marvel will not do at Comic-Con.

-Marvel will make zero FF and X-Men related announcements(that recent 60’s FF rumor is fishy and I don’t buy it). It would be a welcome surprise if Feige did announce Fantastic Four but something tells me it’s simply too soon at the moment. We’ll start hearing about Fantastic Four sometime later this year or next year. Marvel has got their hands full with enough stuff on their deck. I would love to be wrong though.

So basically the cast of 2020 mcu films and the feb 2021 mcu film. The sequels for ds/cm/bp are already given so an announcement for those would be nothing new, the thing I want to hear if they are gonna be brought up is their official titles.

Has the three movies thing ever been stated to be an actual rule? Because in the case of Iron Man and Captain America, there seem to have been outside influences at play. RDJ hurt himself making Iron Man 3 and was very vocal about how he felt he was getting old, so regulating Iron Man to ensemble films likely played into that. He gets to show up and collect his massive paycheck for a smaller work commitment than in a solo film where he's the main character.

Chris Evans was also someone who, while obviously grateful for what Marvel did for his career, made it very clear that he wanted to try other things and that he didn't intend to stick with the franchise forever.

Hemsworth is different. He seems to want to keep playing Thor, and Ragnarok allegedly rekindled his fondness for the franchise. If he wants to do another one and so do Taika and Tessa, there's no real reason Marvel couldn't make it just because Iron Man and Cap's series ended at 3.

Hemsworth might be taken some time off to be with his family.

Will the Disney + series be discussed at the Hall H presentation, or will they talk about those in a separate, TV presentation?

If they'll be doing both films and Disney + series, that will give them a lot to talk about without getting into anything surprising.

Film-wise, I think it will be mostly what we already know: Black Widow, Eternals, Shang-Chi and the sequels. We'll get cast debuts for Widow and Eternals and maybe a lead announcement for Shang. Possibly sequel titles.

The biggest unknown I could see happening is an update on the Spidey-deal's status.

I could see them maybe announcing the FF reboot. But there are a lot of people who seem dead certain we're getting an X-Men reboot announced, and I think those folks may wanna temper those expectations.

An FF reboot is far more likely than rebooting the X-Men so soon after winding down the last X-Men franchise.

I expect the main announcement at SDCC, as well as the expected details for Black Widow and Eternals, will be the titles of the movies from Feb 2021-May 2023.

I think we could also get some details for Falcon & Winter Soldier and What If? but I expect they'll save the rest of the Disney+ announcements for D23

I think the question is: "Has their strategy fundamentally changed?"

Five years ago, they were mapping out a lengthy plan, now they're giving us almost nothing. Have they just been waiting to 'finish' the last phase before unveiling another long-term plan, or have they decided they only want to show a couple years at a time?

If it's the former, we could get logos for Nova, FF and maybe a couple others, if it's the latter, they'll probably focus on the films we already know.

I think they still have a long term plan for the next decade but in terms of solid info on what that plan is we're going to get that in two or three chunks so as to not give too much away. That allows for plans to change which they no doubt will have since the Fox takeover but I don't think they're going to abandon their previous ideas just because they have the characters back from Fox as seems to be the hope (correction.... "dream" ) of X-Men fans.

They might announce the lead actors for Hellstrom as well on the Marvel TV side.

Feige has already said he has the next five years mapped out. I don't think he is going to announce everything he has planned though. I think Marvel might want to keep things a little more flexible going forward.

I'm doubtful there will be X-Men news. Disney still has to do reshoots for New Mutants which is the finally mutant film from the Fox era.

I hope they show off some concept art for the upcoming films as well.

It's whether May 2021 is going to be GOTG3 or not and If BP2 is definitely getting the Feb 22 slot that i'm interested in ........ a lot of the rest of the next few years can be worked out from there if we work on the assumption that each year we'll get...

3 movies
2 will be established characters and 1 will be a new property.
1 each year will definitely be a cosmic property. (So if May 2021 isn't GOTG2 then it'd have to be Captain Marvel 2 or at a push a surprise FF reboot)
Most years one will be an ensemble rather than solo movie as has pretty much been the case since 2014 if you count Civil War and Ragnarok.
July slots for the younger audience (Spider-Man, Ant-Man etc) and Nov slots for darker properties (eg Doctor Strange and Eternals)

Also i rrrrrrreally want an Ant-Man 3 with Ultron-Pym as the villain :)

To be clear again, Fiege don’t do over three solo movies.
We’ll get SM 2 this year and SM 3 in 2022 and that’s it.
Feige made a commitment to his only 3 solo movie mantra as a young boy. It was passed down through the Feige generations. There is no way he would break this code and dishonour his family bloodline.

Hemsworth’s contract has ended. I doubt that he wants to play Thor again.
Feige has been consistent with the 3 solos and out, I suspect he’ll stick to that.
