Marvel Films MCU Phase IV!

As stated in the Ant Man forum, it not being mentioned at comic con doesn't mean Ant-Man 3 won't happen. We only got 2 years worth of content announcements and brief mentions of other stuff coming. The fact he didn't say Ant Man 3 means very little
It seems Feige isn't wanting to schedule as far out as he did in Phase 3 because of how fast the media landscape is changing and him not wanting to make a whole lot of schedule changes again. Plus, he's still renegotiating with Sony for Spider-Man, integrating the Fox Marvel properties, and possibly waiting to integrate some of the characters they get back from Netflix.

Ha that Avengers question caught him off guard I think you can see some hesitation answering it lol. So he basically did confirm Avengers 5 will happen so thats cool.

Feels like there’s so much left for him to announce and give details on. SDCC was just a taster lol.

He says in that clip "ELEVEN projects in two years"...

... They announced 5 movies (Black Widow, Eternals, Shang-Chi, Doctor Strange 2 and Thor 4), 4 live action series (Falcon&Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki and Hawkeye) and 1 animated series (WhatIf?) for 2020-21, which makes a total of 10...

...Is he counting Spider-Man 3 in July 2021?

Possibly. Or maybe a late addition to Phase 4 like Fantastic Four?

The sheer amount of other properties mentioned though leaves little room for it so an unlikely probability.

Truthfully, I was so turned off by the Ant-Man films that the only way they could get me on-board with a third one is if they somehow bring back Ultron.

I could see Ant-Man getting relegated to a Disney+ series. It would be kinda perfect for the whole PG13 thing they're going for.

Interesting. I deleted a post I made earlier in this thread today speculating about a summer movie for 2021 thinking this was 1 of the 3 release slots until realizing of course they already announced 3. This though adds some weight to maybe another project popping up in 1 way or another. Interesting and thanks for that.

I think Fantastic Four and Antman 3 could be combined into one film. It could be an Annihilus event film.

I'd like to see Scott and Hope throw their own team together and take on a merged Hank Pym/Ultron hybrid for Ant-Man 3 :)

Trust me, I love Spider-Man and can't wait to see what's next. But, we've seen him 4 years in a row, in 5 movies. I'd rather take a little break and see him in 2022.

Kevin did say in another interview Blade's not going to be phase 4. I think he may've just miscounted having just announced this but yeah it does make me wonder what else it could be...

Some variables I think need to fall into place first for them to decide perhaps but if another movie appears it for sure won't be BP2, Gaurdians3, or CM2 so possibilties are out there...

Once again, means nothing. Crowded slate can be argued for every movie. Yet, were getting Shang Chi and Eternals to the dismay of many. Again, this just not a conclusion we can draw at this moment. It took 5 years to get a Doctor Strange sequel

Yep. None of the sequels are being rushed in despite the huge numbers some of the origin films did.

This is true. The only thing we know about Black Panther 2 is that Boseman, Nyong'o, Wright, Bassett, Gurira, Duke and the Tolkein White Guy Martin Freeman are coming back.....and that Ryan Coogler is writing and directing.

Marvel is allowing him to take his time.

I could see every black actor who isn't in the MCU wanting to be in BP2....perhaps even some who are currently in the MCU as well like Mackie, Cheadle and SLJ.

Also, we kind of have the origin story of Monica Rambeau, starting with Captain Marvel.

It cant be 2022 unless Marvel Studios and Disney give up the July 2022 date to a rival studio which ain't happening. It will be 2021.

The legacy characters are lesser known heroes, and several of them are more original than the GotG.

Also, what exactly is supposed to be the appeal of famous characters bowing out and NOT leaving any legacy behind? I've never understood the hate of legacy characters. They're exactly what should happen in a superhero world. Batman would be a lot less interesting if he didn't have Robin to follow him.

Because a guy wearing a bat on his chest doesn't seem as special when 15 other people are wearing a bat on their chest.

Because the fastest person alive isn't that special when a half dozen other people are the fastest person alive.

We want our heroes to be unique and to have their own identities.

I doubt it, Hollywood and the movie industry is much bigger than the MCU.
