MCU vs thread....controversy and chaos

Why is Strange's answer to everything is to send them to some distant place? Anyway, we end up with a 2-2 tie.

Who you got peeps?!

Ant-Man can be an unexpected wildcard, but I doubt he can take down a Frost Giant as skilled and powerful as LOKI.
When Hank killed Thor in that episode hammer bro was depowered.

BTW @Docker2.0; your expectation about Eternals came true about critical reception at least, time to wait and see how it will do in the B.O.

Ant-Man vs Loki:

I call it a coin flip. It depends on too many unknown or vague factors, like "can Loki's magic protect against being shrunk" and "can Loki use mental powers to locate and attack an otherwise imperceptible Ant-Man". Depending on them, it could turn into anything from a messy mixed bag where neither can really do much against the other, to a fast draw where both parties are glass cannons that die in one hit.

Oh I stand by my prediction! It may do OK opening weekend but the real dose of reality is next weekend.

Loki

Not only is this Loki more aggressive than regular Loki, he also possesses the casket of ancient winters, which is a major difference maker.

This version of Loki should win.....until you see him get taken down by ****ing Black Widow ?

Ugh. Stupid MCU....BTW just saw Eternals again. Not a bad film, well okay a mixed bag - first act is awkward and dull, second act things start moving, third act is pretty good. A solid 6/10, and at least its memorable ! Although how it fits in the wider MCU makes no sense. Worth a look though.

Let's not forget Ant Man can also go Giant Man. And no casket of ancient winters...............that's cheating. Mano e Mano!

I abstain.

Judging by what I've heard about the pacing and length, I'm probably going to watch Eternals when it comes to digital.

Sorry, couldn't vote in the previous match when I have zero knowledge or interest in Eternals overall, except for the rotten tomatoes score cause it's amusing.

I'll just chuck (chalk?) it to ODIN, ignoring how Stephen basically spammed teleportation move in Thor: Ragnarok.

That's the same reason I didn't vote!

I mean, I will vote on Eternals matchups after I watch Eternals. I otherwise don't have the information to judge anything but silly mismatches. :p

Anyway, Strange vs Odin? Well, speaking of lacking information. . . *ahem* However, given the various implicit hints about Odin, I am comfortable giving him the win. We don't exactly see Odin do a whole lot, but what we do see is stuff like "change the species of another high level character", and he's otherwise pretty consistently portrayed as "Beyond the reach of people who are explicitly shown as extremely powerful". I would be happy judging him as "Notably beyond the power of people like Hela and Thanos", and that is plenty to put him out of the reach of Dr Strange.

I hate to get off topic about the Eternals but do you know that speaking anything bad about the way the movie looks..........you are considered a hater? That movie looked boring AF and I knew that ish would make the money they were saying it would but it's crazy how the Eternal fanatics are trying to make it sound like the movie is a success at the BO. It is not!! And before they blame covid, Shang Chi didn't have that problem nor did F4. That should have fast tracked the F4 or even freaking Silver Surfer rather than some Superman rip off!

Loki wins. Next up:

Against all expectations.....I didn't mind Eternals, the first act is a mess, the 2nd act is a little better but I loved the third act. Having said that, I can completely understand why a lot of people didn't like it.

Sooooo, Ikaris v Thor. Difficult because
we only see him fight Deviants and other Eternals. Superman is a good comparison, he's a very fast flier, super strong and has an unspecified level of invulnerability, enough to shrug off attacks by the Deviants and instantly recover from super speed attacks from the Eternal Makaari.
Those eye blasts are pretty powerful - no doubt Mjolnir could block them. However, even that version of Thor is very powerful too, a lot more so than the average Asgardian, and Mjolnir has some tactical advantages. While Ikaris' blasts could probably hurt Thor, I doubt they would put him down - at least not before Thor took him out with a lightning strike.

I'll say Thor, but not by much. Ikaris could definitely beat non nanotech Iron Man and probably Loki too.

So Thor.

Okay Odin v Strange. One is a gifted genius and has been magician for a decade or so against a 5000+ year old godling who conquered worlds.

While Odin is near the end of his life, and Loki was able to enchant him ( that's movie Loki, before the Loki series turned him into a useless *****) I can't see Strange beating him without the time stone.

Thor wins with ONE vote. ONE!!! :argh:

One question. Is Odin conscious and/or alive? He probably spent more time in one of those states than any other.

EDIT: Meaning in a coma or dead. Doc is off his game.....he coulda made it a tie. Voting out of ignorance is specifically allowed. I do it all the time.
