MCU vs thread....controversy and chaos

Nat and Clint vs Cap:

Yeah, what people have said. In anything resembling a fair fight, Steve is going to win. You pretty much need to have something like "They start a mile away in open terrain and Cap has no shield" to bend it the other way. Steve's combo of power and skill is just too good to overcome here.

Steve wins. Next up:

Good question.

Not sure that Khonshu would approve of MK fighting Cap.

Anyway, MK's powers are very badly defined, particularly his resistance to injury, seems like he can be impaled by spears and shrug it off, and his cloak can catch bullets when it suits the plot.

If Cap doesn't have his shield then MK's mystic bull**** would be too much for him.

However, Cap's shield is pretty much magic in the same way....it does whatever the plot needs it to do. In one scene it will effortlessly cut steel cable and in another it will bounce off some dude and knock him out.

Cap also has an almost Batman level of plot armour.

I'll say Cap wins !

Captain America vs Moon Knight:

Steve should take it 9/10. Without Khonshu doing something esoteric, Moon Knight is comfortably in Steve's weight class. He's not bad or anything, but Steve is better. And I can't see any good reason for Khonshu to intervene on Marc's behalf.

Gorr vs Thanos:

Thanos takes it, at least assuming the fight doesn't take place inside the Shadow Realm. Going on that initial fight in New Asgard, Gorr is powerful, but not *that* powerful. He seemed to be roughly in the same power bracket as Thor, possibly even weaker- his plans hinged on surprise, taking hostages, and drawing his foes into a place of power. Thanos, by contrast, could flat out just plan beat Thor. Gorr is going to get a double ended cosmic-sword-doohickey through his chest, more often than not.

Tough call. Really Thor is the comparison. We know Thanos can curbstomp fat Thor, and we know Gorr can overpower ..... regular Thor.

While Thanos is probably stronger than Thor and by extension Gorr, could he survive being stabbed with the necrosword , which kills gods ?

Similarly would Thanos sword be able to kill Gorr ? Maybe - as Gorr's life force is tied to the necrosword its not certain.

One of the difficulties is how loosely defined the "magical" nature of Asgardians and their weapons are. Lady Thor was able to break the necrosword ( if I misremember this please correct me, as I've only seen that wretched film once) with Mjolnir which is a "magic" weapon ( like the old D&D trope of the monsters that can only be hurt by magic weapons) and at the cost of her own life.

How much of a factor is magic in a battle like this ?

If it were a contest of fighting skill and straight up physical might Id say Thanos, no contest.

But bring magic into the mix and things are less certain.

Due to the uncertainty factor Ill say Thanos wins 6/10, with Gorr winning 4/10. So Thanos, but not by much. Give Thanos an infinity stone and its more like 8/10.

Yeah.....but he hasn't fought Thor....twice.

Can Steve die by sniper? unresolved

Can Steve die by sniper? unresolved

I see what you’re referencing. There’s a few things to take into consideration for that particular situation. One Steve wasn’t fully aware of his surroundings. Two it wasn’t the sniper shot from Crossbones that hit him. That was merely a smokescreen. The real culprit was a mind controlled Sharon Carter who shot Steve up close and it placed his body into a coma.

anyhow A fully healthy Steve Rogers with his trusty shield in toe would definitely manage to prevail. As we saw in Winter Solider, he got shot multiple times and still held his own against Bucky.

Well, what about the original idea of Clint and Nat? Clint or Nat firing from long distance where Steve could not possibly anticipate deflecting w shield. Can he die from the bullet? We've seen Steve shot and suggested he heals fast. But what if they pulled a JFK on him, headshot w exploding round or just regular shot lol I dunno if quick healing applies

I must vote Clint and Nat as the victors
