MCU X-Men - Part 2

Wrong. That has never been true.
Wrong. It's a well established fact that at least 90% of mutant's powers manifest during puberty. I can provide references, if you want to push the issue. Mutants are a metaphor for adolescence almost as much as they are for being discriminated against.
They can make Storm and Shuri friends instead. Because they're more the same age.
I'd like that more than a Storm/Panther romance. Ever seen the episode of South Park where Cartman insisted on setting Token up with the new African American girl at school? Storm/Panther is basically the same thing. "Let's put the two black characters together; nevermind that the only thing they have in common is their ethnicity".

No, his statement is wrong and I suggest you go read it back bc your post confirms it. Nice try but try again

They had a long established history in the books before their publicized wedding. So what if they are black. Whats wrong with black love?

The problem is that Marvel mutants have always manifested their powers at puberty.
The only part that could be seen as incorrect is the word "always". And even then, that could be chalked up to hyperbole.

No. I've been reading comics since 1992, and I do my homework. I've searched through many back issues, trade paperbacks, and Marvel Handbooks, and there's almost no stories with those two interacting until 2010.

Nothing. There IS something wrong with the way the story was handled. It seemed to come out of nowhere, and with very little setup. Maybe I'm wrong, but it felt like pandering to me, and I know I'm not the only one. IF Marvel decides to go that route in the MCU, I hope it's not the first movie movie they appear in together. Ironically I don't want a "Disney" romance for these characters.

The word always completely changes the meaning of the statement. From the original X-men back in the 60s, we know that mutations dont always manifest at puberty. That may be the norm but its never been something that was portrayed as always being the case

You havent done enough research

Claremont established them as having had a romantic past back in 1980. They reunited for the first time since they first met as teenagers but realized that their time had passed and they could be nothing more than friends

Aside from a few interactions here and there, not much was done until they were reunited in Priest's Black Panther series in the late 90s. They acknowledged their feelings for each other and acted on it but he was engaged and they didnt go further

Of course with both finally being single, they took advantage of it and started a relationship which became a marriage around 2006

The only thing wrong about how it was handled the last time was rushing the marriage instead of giving their relationship more time in the spotlight. I find them refreshing. In the 70+ years that Marvel Comics has existed there are barely any black couples. It seems that a black character can only find love if paired with a white counterpart. Its sad that I can count the amount of significant black couples with one hand. Its good seeing black love flourish and Coates is handling them perfectly

This right here. I concur.

I really hope they give them time to grow and let their romance be organic and have a movie wedding that'll be epic. It pisses me off, they could've done so much with Black Panther and Storm: give them a omega level mutant child who could give Jean Grey's kids a run for their money, ease them into the X-Men, Avengers, all kinds of stuff.

It's always good to see black love represented.

Again, T'Challa would be robbing the cradle.
Comics showed them meeting at almost the exact same age. They'd have no socially acceptable romantic chemistry if she was wandering around Kenya at 13 before her powers manifested and met this 30-something taking a vacation.

I hope we see a Krakoa that looks like this

I love a good monster mash

I stand corrected. It still felt rushed, though.

I'm multi-ethnic, so interracial couples just don't upset me. I didn't intend to disparage black love, only to state that in this SPECIFIC case, it felt like pandering, IMO.

I'd like to see Krakoa brought to the screen. Nobody's ever done that, and it would be a fine way to mine the classic comics to do something fresh.

They could combine Krakoa and Murderworld into one film although I kinda feel like thats something that should be more suited for a spinoff team and not the main X-men

If there is an MCU X-Men, they should find ONE actor who looks like a John Byrne drawing and he can play everyone in the cast! :o

I wouldn't mind seeing Murderworld and Arcade paired with another property, since there's nothing about him that makes him exclusively fit X-Men.

Yeah it might even be fun to set the xmen up on krakoa. I mean, the metaphor is cute, literally the place is held together by mutant(s) and it’s a nice way to differentiate them from past movies or even if they decide to do the avengers mansion in another movie

I’m dying to see shiro yoshida appear. He’s got to be the number one new mutant I want introduced. Besides the villains of course

I know everyone wants the O5 team for the movie, but I think that might be too predictable what if they started with something out of left field. I think a new x-men reboot than can start with both x-men blue and gold movies. You'd start two x-men franchises instead of one. I could be like a mini avengers strategy where they establish both teams and combine in a team-up called uncanny x-men

I don't see how that makes sense. Do both teams live at Xavier's school but they never see each other until your team-up film?

While I love my XMen and would like nothing more than seeing the Giant Size lineup get done right I want to see more of the X universe. Longshot, Mojo, Alpha Flight, Mr Sinister etc.. There’s so much more I need to see live action.

I wonder how the bosses at Marvel Studios feel about stuff like Mojo and the Shi'ar. Back when Marvel comics was doing the Ultimate universe as film pitches, they stripped X-Men of everything that wasn't gritty and grounded.

Wow...Mojoworld could soooo be done as a movie as a statement critiquing the world we live in today.

They could split them between the two schools. Though taking things that far would be skipping over a LOT of backstory that's never been shown on screen before.

I would love to see the Shi’ar! But who could play lilandra and deathbird?

I’ve always wanted to see Lucy Liu as lilandra. No idea who could play deathbird. Gong Li maybe? She was so good in curse of the golden flower

I always pictured Catherine Zeta Jones as Lilandra.
