MCU X-Men - Part 2

Cause Scott and Jean should be left alone imo. And I didn't know Siryn was specifically Irish, I only know her from X-Force where her nationality/ethnicity was never mentioned as far as I know. Well, in that case, you can make Dazzler latino instead. So:

- Cyclops (white)
- Jean (white)
- Ororo (black)
- Hank (Indian)
- Bobby (white LGBTQ or Asian)
- Allison (Latino)
- Jubilee (Asian)

You could also replace Hank with Forge (native American) but I'd rather have Hank over him

I don't want Dazzler in that line-up as a background character in an X-Men film. She should have her own movie musical, just as was originally planned in the 70s when she was first conceived.

Under Disney, they would be the perfect company to do a Dazzler musical.

This is the MCU Dazzler thread:

They should leave the race scheme for the X-Men alone. They're already diverse as they come. The blue characters like Beast and Mystique are a toss up though.

It's all fun and games and diversity until Storm is a white woman in the MCU. Lol smh.
The normal lineup for X-Men isn't that diverse. You could technically have a lineup like this

- Scott (white)
- Jean (white)
- Storm (black)
- Jubilee (Asian)
- Forge (native American)
- Sunspot (Latino)

But it would feel wrong to leave Hank and Bobby out of the first MCU X-Men movie. The MCU could do a lot that we haven't seen with Iceman and Hank should be established as a main player in the science bros of the MCU.

And really? :whatever: Turning the most prominent black X-Man member white, whose race is intrinsically tied to her character (Ororo is Kenyan) is equivalent to changing the races of a couple of white characters that make up a majorty white cast? That's ridiculous

I was just joking about the Storm part lol.

But MCU makes a good point in streamlining things. I'm sure they'll have a colorful roster/cast for the eventual MCU movie.

The only thing I never understood is why people love Kitty Pryde so much. I never got the hype with her.

I think you can cast a latino actress for Jean.

Lindsey Morgan I think could work for Jean if we're racechanging. Personally I'm not for race changing characters. But I think it works better for some characters than others and can depend on the actor/actress they choose. Like I'd be fine for racebending rogue if they cast Tessa Thompson. Obviously that's not in the cards it seems, but I'm just making a point.

Maybe not to the GA yet but she's easily one of the most hated X-man in the books today

I would love if Marvel brought back Ramin Djawadi to score the movie:

Or Steve Jablonsky

So much redhead erasure.

Uh, yeah - Jean's red hair is pretty iconic so I'm strongly against a race swap on her. Certain characters need to stay their original race imo.

Red hair (or ginger hair) occurs naturally in 1–2% of the human population. It occurs more frequently (2–6%) in people of northern or western European ancestry, and less frequently in other populations.

Underlined = X-gene

The rarity of red hair is why most of it comes out of a bottle. :yay: And real redheads almost always have hair the color of my ginger cat, not the bizarre comic book red that Jean sports. Since natural redheads are so rare Marvel is going to have to use wigs or dye with whoever gets cast, anyway.

As noted above, most red hair is dyed, especially in Hollywood. People of every ethnicity dye their hair every shade possible, so it isn't a race thing.

Dunno why some of you people want to fix what doesn't need to be fixed.

I'll just use my post from the other thread explaining why:

A story based on the civil rights era, MLK, Malcom X; a story that is meant to be a metaphor for real life racism, bigotry, homophobia, discrimination etc should have people of color and other minorities represented in the movie - the X-Men and mutants are a direct allegory to the struggle people of color and the LGTBQ community go through. An adaptation in 2018-2022 should reflect actual minorities. Not saying everybody should change (Scott, Jean, Logan, Kitty) but the cast should be much more diverse more in line with Spider-Man: Homecoming.

I'd personally build around Scott, Jean and Storm and cast a diverse group of mutants around these 3, again, like Homecoming.

I still think that characters don't necessarily have to be race changed.

It makes me want to cry with the possibility (so close) of a franchise built around these three characters.

Oh yes!

And nice images ;)

The possibilities are endless now and we can see aspects of X-Men that have never been considered on film before.

Don't mean to be "that guy" but don't put too much faith everything will be done exactly how you invision it now that it is in Disney's hands. That's a recipe for disaster.

Just stick to what the characters look like in the comics. I want the X-Men to look like they came out of the comics, and not think how drastic they look in the film compare to what they look like in the comics.

Exactly. The xmen are already diverse in the source material dont go gender swapping or changing anything for the sake of it.

Also why racebend Beast, Iceman... When there's already Storm, Bishop, Psylocke, Jubilee having two of those in the first film would be enough... While the b listers like sunfire, Moonstar, Sunspot, Thunderbird, Warpath, Armor, Trinary, Gentle, Indra, M can be saved for the spin offs or sequels.

They didn't racebend/gender swap any of the major Avengers. So no need to do it to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four as well. The villains however, I wouldn't mind.

But it's not "for the sake of it" there is a very good reason to do it that is 100% in line with the core themes of the source material. Trust me, I hate change for the sake of change too but the X-Men by nature is a property where diversity and tolerance should be celebrated, especially with the times we're living in now and current political climate.

And speaking of gender swapping, I think it would be a seamless change to have Mystique be LGBTQ since she can be both genders. Iceman too, explore Bobby's arc of him dealing with that fact he's a double minority - being gay AND a mutant. He's attacked from both angles and I could see him learning to not care about what others think, to be who he is.

I don't either.

There are mutant chars from all 7 continents. Marvel can make anyone popular just put some POC on the team and build them up.
