MCU X-Men - Part 3

Hearing that 30 years is "too old" is so bizarre to me, especially when ageism is a thing in Hollywood that affects so many talented actresses, unfortunately.

But anyway, she's basically the same age as Brie Larson. The character doesn't need to be the same age as the actor portraying them. She is a great actress. And 30 sounds good to me.

And what about the ageism against male actors expressed over and over again on this forum?

Anyway, the issue is that Marvel mutants usually manifest their powers at 13-15, sometimes younger. Why do you think casting 30-year-olds sounds good for 15-year-olds?

Poor men, right? They could start their own #metoo. They're so opressed and suffered so much.

Because I obviously don't want Jean to be 15 years old.

We seem to be moving out of the Dawson's Creek era of casting 30 year olds as teenagers/College kids, thankfully. One of the worst examples is Andrew Garfield being cast as a 17 year old High-school student. He looked like a grown ass 30 year old man in TASM2 graduation scene, it was so baffling.

I don't really need to see a 15 year old Jean either but she should still be in the 18-23 year old range imo.

Wait, huh? What ageism against male actors? Because some don't want an 80 year old Magneto? There is certainly no agism against men in Hollywood. You have men over 50 still playing in action blockbusters while women struggle to get a role as anything other than a mom/sage when they pass 30.

But that's not really relevant to this topic and It's not like I'm only advocating for Jean/only the women to be younger.

One solution is just have Laura/X23 become the main Wolverine for the franchise.

I remember someone mentioning Riley Keough as Jean, and now I just want her.

She's very rough looking and just doesnt give the maternal warmth that I associate with Jean

Don’t necessarily need to go obscure, even getting Cyclops and Storm right would be a great start and difference to the Fox-verse. I think many want Rogue early in the MCU X-Men and I would like Emma Frost to eventually become an integral member.

Not super obscure but like ones that haven’t been touched by Fox. I’m honestly just so tired of Charles-Erik dynamic, Cyclops and Jean Grey love struggle and Wolverine. I’d love it if Emma Frost was an X-Man. Have the team have a couple obscure heroes while also having like Rogue and Storm done properly.

Yo you went in. LMAO.

She does have a hard face though.

LOL...I didnt think I was that bad. With a haircut, I think she would better fit for Rachel

Im not sure if thats the best idea but that would certainly be a bold move. You'd have to get to Logan eventually but to tell the story in reverse could be interestnig

I guess you mean second tier rather than obscure? Not sure I would put Emma Frost any lower than that. Fox touched on a fair number of characters both top and second tier and very few were done well outside of Fox’s own big 4 which only included 1 X-Man.

Admittedly Scott Eastwood is a handsome guy and I can probably stare at him for hours on end but for the love of god please stop fancasting the dude. Homie is no leading man.

She was really cold and a real ***** in the first season of The Girlfriend Experience.

She was meant to be this escort that all men desired. But I can't imagine they would actually desire to be with someone who was such a cold fish.

That series probably had the unsexiest and most clinical sex scenes ever. They were almost psychologically scary (which is partly what they were going for).

So yeah, I don't think she should play Jean, even if she were younger.

She's the granddaughter of Elvis Presley btw.

Now that you say she's Elvis' granddaughter, I can't unsee him in her mug now.

Well put it this way. Elvis and Priscilla were two good looking parents. They had Lisa-Marie Presley, who... let's just say... didn't turn out quite as well as them. She looked a bit rough herself.

And Riley Keogh is like an even rougher version of Lisa-Marie.

It's like the Presley image has been whittled down through the generations to leave only the worst features instead of becoming more refined.

I'd add Cyclops to that list. The main reason I'm enthusiastic about MCU X-Men is the possibility of seeing those three characters done right.

Damn, y'all are being harsh on Riley

It's the same old, same old when it comes to women in Hollywood. It was ageism a few posts before, now the looks. Just wait a moment and soon someone will say she's too fat too. Or not hot enough.

Everyone has an ideal of image of how they'd roughly like the characters to look and whether you want to admit it, even you. Not sure why its being maligned. It has nothing to do with it being about a woman bc it happens to men to. Just look at how several of the Logan fancastings have been scrutinized
