MCU X-Men - Part 3

Everyone has an ideal of image of how they'd roughly like the characters to look and whether you want to admit it, even you. Not sure why its being maligned. It has nothing to do with it being about a woman bc it happens to men to. Just look at how several of the Logan fancastings have been scrutinized

Yes, people have ideas of how the characters should look like. So...? That has nothing to do with mocking someone's look.

How about Ellie Bamber as Jean

I want Jean with an 80s hairstyle. Or something similar to that. Have it wavy so that it is similar to how she was when she became Phoenix. But not full 80s perm.

Just don't make it too straight. Phoenix with straight hair, or even Marvel Girl with completely straight hair looks less classic.

I agree I hope MCU embraces the big hair for the X-Women like they were drawn in comics, Fox never did. Storm hasn't had long hair since X1.

I definitely want those fabulous rupauls drag race style fashions and haircuts that we saw during the cockrum run. That would be so much fun

Big hairs look fabulous... as part of drag.

See Gal here?

Her hair is not completely straight. It has waves.

Jean Grey can have hair like that. It doesn't have to be a full big hair 80s perm. Even Gal doesn't have that for Wonder Woman 1984. But it looks like it has more body than all of the hairstyles Jean Grey has had in any of the X-Men films, which has been pretty dead straight.

That's all I ask. That kind of hairstyle would look better for Phoenix too.

I think Mera's hairstyle in Aquaman is the right idea for MCU Jean. I would just like these characters to look as striking as they do in comics, costumes and hairstyling go a long way to do that and we know those two were never Fox's strongest suit. I still want to see Wolverine in his classic costume.

^^^Agreed.

I doubt we'll be getting teenaged-Cyclops, Storm and Jean. Considering that's what we got in Apocalypse and that's what we're practically getting with Dark Phoenix (the audience will still see them as teenagers, since they look like teenagers...).

Other than Spider-Man, and possibly Shuri, the MCU is relatively lacking in youth. Teenage/college age X-Men could allow crossover potential with Spider-Man. They won't be teenagers forever, but I think they will likely begin there. I think some of the Four will be as well.

More candidates for MCU Jean in the 19-24 range

Madison Lintz: (19)

Madison also has the right height for Jean at 5'8. And keep in mind that X-Men won't start filming until 2020 at the earliest so Madison would be 21-22. I'm thinking long-term here.

Amy Forsyth (22)

Ariane Rinhart (24)

Realistically, Ariane will be 26/27 by the time they start shooting but she may still work.

I think all factors considered, Lintz is my favorite of these 3 because she seems the most comic Jean-esque and she checks all of the required boxes.

Now to put together a Cyclops list

I see you're mentioning only physical traits, like height and age, which is fine. I get it's the visual part of the character. But you didn't mention their work, and I'm sorry but I don't know them. Were they leads in any film/TV, or had any relevant work in them? Do they have charisma? Acting skills? It's worth remembering that the actress can possibly portray Phoenix eventually.

Well, I've seen Lintz in the Walking Dead years ago and I've seen her in this show called "Bosch". She's a pretty good actress, but she's relatively unknown. She can do drama pretty well.

Forsyth is a really good dramatic actor. I saw her Christmas Horror story back in 2017.

I haven't seen Rinhart in anything, I just saw her name suggested by someone else on Reddit and I thought hey, "She has a good look for Jean" which is a terrible way to fancast, admittedly - but these are only candidates.

All of these actresses are unknowns with plenty of room to grow but i feel most confident with Lintz and Forsyth with their experience In acting.

Rinhart was in that Russel Crowe Noah from a couple of years back which I saw but I don't really remember her in the movie.

Either way, I think Marvel may go for unknowns i.e Tom Holland and cast of kids from Homecoming

Yeah, fancasting is fun. Especially when we have to wait for a while until the actual movie. And of course we usually do it with more popular actors. But I really like the idea of taking unknown actors for the roles.

Does the general audience expect Wolverine to be in the team or even to be the star/one of the stars? Or has MCU gotten enough good will that they will accept, especially if the film is kind of advertised as Young X-Men, him not being in it and other characters as the stars?

I think Wolverine is pretty associated with X-Men but OTOH there probably also is at least some fatigue with him.

My ideal introduction to Logan would be to have a separate WOLVERINE/HULK film and not have him as part of the X-MEN cast until at least a second film if not a third. Wolverine could have a couple of films under his belt before joining the team. But that's me.

I want to see real hair colour diversity! :woot:

Storm - white
Jean - redhead
Rogue - brunette with white streak
Psylocke - purple
Emma Frost - blonde
Polaris - green
Kitty - brunette
Jubilee - black

I would also love if they could get the Wolverine classic suit to work. I can't picture in my head it looking good in live action but I'm sure they have much better people on the job to make it happen if it's possible.

If they still can't make Hulk solos then they are going to have to come up with Ragnarok-type material as a vehicle for him to continue to show up outside Avengers films, so I don't think something like this would be totally off the table.

As long as it is marketed as being very different to what came before and now obviously in the MCU going forward, I think audiences will be able to accept what Marvel throw at them. The other X-Men characters being very good for a change will also give the audience plenty to get into and this not being the case before is one reason why they got so obsessed with Wolverine above all.

This is so exciting.

My ideal is 21-25 year olds for the majority of the core cast, along with a couple teens to capture the family mix of the X-Men. No Wolverine until at least the second sequel.

The MCU can't afford to make that mistake again. They can't let the series be reliant on the popularity of one, at the expense of many.

That's not going to happen. Expect Wolverine in the first film in a cameo/end credits scene at least.

I would go with Xavier rocking up in a doctor strange film as part of the illuminati and playing the whole mindwiped the world about mutants. It would support the mutants being hated and feared because something would have to make them stay around in the public, but think it would be a good way to start.

Apocalypse could easily be the "Thanos" of an entire phase and have a huge event style film with multiple hero teams (Avengers, Fantastic 4, X-Force) with the X-Men as the main focus.

A proper Apocalypse film could be HUGE
