Marvel Films MCU X-Men - Part 4

I want to cast Michelle Yeoh as someone but I don’t know who. She’s badass and I’m glad she’s having a “comeback” with Crazy Rich Asians and Star Trek. That disposable cameo in GOTG2 was criminal.
Yeoh as Professor Charlie Francesca Xavier. Book it!

I hope Feige has an X-Men splash pic on his bedroom wall and is planning his strategy on how to get to that.

let's see how big that role actually is. and if they do have lgbt mutant in the film, which they absolutely should, i hope it's not just a background character thrown in for headlines like this one.
That is surely a big challenge for the writers and directors.

I think Marvel will push Bobby as one of the big faces of the MCU X-Men. Having the first openly gay superhero in a big budget movie could be pretty big.

I mean, it could be a way of making the MCU X-Men stand out in terms of representation and diversity. And the X-Men being the superhero team with the first gay superhero feels right.

I would love to see Alpha Flight at some point too. It would be awesome to get them in the X-men sequels

I also hope they get creative with Iceman's powers the same they did with Spider-Man's webbing in HC. In addition to ice ramps, he can also make ice shields, ice gauntlets, ice blades, ice armor (with spikes), etc There is sooo much they can do with Bobby's abilities/ice constructs. Fox barely scratched the surface with the character.

Also, I would love to see this too. Bobby's longstanding bromance with Peter

With him and everybody else.

The X-Men has a lot of visual appeal. Take characters like Bobby, Jean, Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Kitty, Psylocke... All of them have lots and lots of potential.

Hopefully they'll creatively explore the powers of all of them.

I hope someone at Marvel is taking notes. This is exactly what they need to do. There is so much you can do with his ice powers and it would make for amazing onscreen visuals. And if they cast the right actor that could play off Holland well we could be in for a treat. Throw in Johnny Storm too!

If they take the visuals and action set pieces seriously, giving each character the consideration required to make their powers looks as good as possible, our eyeballs are gonna explode lol. The original Avengers looked great even though BW, Hawkeye and Cap have unspectacular powers compared to the energy wielders and shape-changers of the X-Men. A high budget X-Men film could really up the ante on the visual stakes.

Would be nice to have their powers complimenting each other. I.e Iceman freezing a Sentinel hand mid-strike and Scott blasting it to pieces with his Optic blast. Storm and Jean (whom should be like sisters in the MCU) working together, Kurt and Gambit etc.

A true X-Men movie would be colorful and bombastic. I hope Feige really nails this aspect as it's going to be very important.

Give us this with the X-Men:

The one thing Marvel NAILED in the Avengers movies. The thing Fox struggled with -- teamwork..

These combo moves are what I love when the X-Men fight in the comics. They are the best drilled team always fighting together and many naturally complement each other. It’s funny that the Avengers nailed teamwork better than the X-Men even though this is the aspect I’ve lost loved about the X-Men (comics) all these years.

It's something that Singer always struggled with. Ironically enough, the best display of teamwork in the franchise was in X3 and First Class -- two movies not directed by him. I did like the Blink scenes in DOFP. She basically complimented everybody's powers but I wanted more than that, more mashups than just Colossus+Blink or Warpath+Blink.

It's just going to be very exciting to have some fresh blood. The X-Men work as a team. Wolverine shouldn't (literally) dominate the fight.

Yes Blink was amazing in DofP. I would love to see her again. They really used her powers well. I liked that opening scene in DofP and even Iceman finally iced up while ice-sliding and using offensive ice powers. Just a shame it lasted such a short time.

Nightcrawler is another character who is awesome as a team combo player. Imagine an augmented fastball special, where Blink opens a portal for Nightcrawler, Colossus and Wolverine. Nightcrawer instantly teleports them on exiting the portal. Colossus then has the perfect angle to throw Wolverine, and all the villain’s attacks land in the spots of Blink’s entrance and exit portal and finally hit Colossus who can absorb it, but as a result totally miss Wolverine who gets in behind to wreck shop. Elsewhere Iceman can have passengers on his ice slide and freeze targets for Cyclops to blast. There are too many possibilities.

Man, that would be awesome! Maybe they should get you on as action choreographer :funny:

To think that X-Men has been on the big screen for 20 years, but MCU has done more in their 10 years of existence when it comes to visual and creative effects. Also, no black leather, either!

who is the Jean actress? looks too young there

It is quite sad that Frozone in the Incredibles movies had better power displays than Fox Iceman.

The filmmakers need to look no further than all the three animated series to get some cool power displays and teamwork.

Personally I hope when they bring X-Men to MCU, that we stick with the Original Five. I think the MCU is at it's best when they do unconventional things. Everyone will expect Wolverine and Storm, let's give them a rest and see what the MCU can do with the O5. I love Wolvie and Storm, but I say start simple and add on, kind of like The Avengers did. They didn't immediately add other members, they started small and expanded. I also think these team movies work best with a smaller number.

I have full faith in the MCU and have no doubt it's going to be amazing.

Unlike Logan, Storm has been neglected in the FOX movies for 2 decades. She's certainly a character the fans don't want to "give them a rest". If anything, she should come to the MCU in full force and be one of the protagonists.

Ororo, Scott and Jean are some of the characters that should be treated as leads, the core and the foundation of the X-Men franchise.

I agree. The Fox movies had Charles/Raven/Erik as the foundation but first for the MCU, it should be Scott, Ororo and Jean. Of course the movies should be an ensemble with everybody getting some sort of arc but I'd like those 3 to be the building blocks. The same way Cap, Stark and Thor were in the Avengers films

I mentioned before that I think Bobby could be a way of making the X-Men stand out in representation, by bringing something other superhero franchises don't have. Of course, they still need more POC, but the X-Men also have a staller cast of women.

Pushing the girls upfront might be another way of making the X-Men stand out, since the MCU also lack when it comes to female superhero.

So Ororo, Jean, Kitty, Rogue, Betsy, Alison, Jubilee, Laura, Lorna, Emma, Mystique, Dani, Illyana, Rahne, Domino, Rachel, etc... should all come in full force.

Well, it's really no secret that Fox were always the gatekeepers to Marvel's most iconic female characters. Now that they're getting them back, they have a chance to utilize them in a way that the Fox movies never attempted to do.

I do wonder if/when Marvel will do the Hellfire Club again with Emma. There are so many characters and stories to adapt that it sometimes makes my head explode. So I can only imagine what Feige is feeling right now
