X-Men Reboot Plans Still Under Discussion at Marvel Studios

Believe me, Kevin Feige is the most psyched out of any of us to have the Mutants join the MCU. He’s wanted the X-Men in the MCU before most of us wanted them in. These are toys of the Marvel toy box that he wasn’t allowed to play with for little over a decade. So he’s just itching to introduce them. Which makes me think we’ll see the Children Of the Atom in the Marvel Universe sooner than five years, for sure. We probably won’t see a movie in five years, but we will see X-Men characters in less than five years. There’s no question in mind, lol.

it must be crazy. Every time you go to a party...”I know who would make the best wolverine...me!” You would get swamped every time

What makes the long wait worst (for me) is that phase 4 is not that exciting. Out of the 20 projects they have, there's like 6 or 7 I'm excited about.

Kevin Feige Reveals How Far Out the MCU Is Planned Right Now, Teases Mutants

It's good to hear that they seem to have mapped out when/where mutants will debut

Yup, and I think thanks to the Wakanda Files we got a pretty good idea of why/how Mutants will exist in the MCU.

Oh, since it seems in WandaVision
Hydra is seemingly involved, it makes me wonder if Wanda is actually trapped by Hydra, and that if Wanda is revealed as a Mutant Hydra is part of it?

Speaking of Wanda. Olsen described Wanda becoming full on Scarlet Witch as a coming of a woman age story, which the way she described it, it gave me the coming of Mutants age story vibes, and what she said about Wanda's family it kind of reminded me of Leia.

Like the whole her parents are dead, her Brother is dead, her Vision is dead, etc. etc. it kind of reminded me of Leia's family being dead until the reveal of her as a force user/Anakin/Vader's Daughter in ROTJ.

I could be wrong but I just feel like the show will lead to the big reveal that she's a Mutant/Magneto's Daughter.

I hope it’s a Disney Plus show. Characters can certainly appear (crossover) into film but the foundation of the X-Men should be a series. Can you just imagine them all hanging out in the mansion? The drama...the mutants have always been....a drama. Character-development to be given all around, equally. Not to just our favorite skunk bear. There’s only so much you can do in a two hour film. Not everyone can truly shine. But with a series you can introduce the growing list of members and fractions little by little, season by season. I think that’s the way to go. I really don’t need another theatrical release with + here now.

Maybe he can actually interact with characters from the other movies this time.

Him interacting with other Marvel characters is what I'm hoping because 1) it would be great, and 2) even establishing it as part of the multiverse, I don't want two versions of Colossus or some other characters in the MCU.

Cameos can be cool. But more than that... no.

I'm eXcited about Eternals and Shang Chi. I need to see piX or a trailer for F4, Ds2, T4 and Cm2 to get eXcited. I can't get eXcited about Black Widow only bcos theaters from where I Iive is still closed and the pandemic hasn't really killed my vibe anticipating upcoming movies. But this too shall paX.

But I'm always eXcited for Marvel movies especially with the mcu fliX. The only films thay I would say I wouldn't be eXcited to see when they are about to be released are Venom, Morbius and that Deadpool film.

Waiting for some of these fan sites to churn out the "X-Men confirmed for She-Hulk show!" headlines.:o

Am I the only one not keen on this? As much as Deadpool’s Colossus was a massive improvement on the fox version, he was used only as a foil for the title character’s over the top humour.

It works well in the Deadpool movies but do we really want him to be the same in the MCU? He’s arguably the heart of the X-Men, not a joke character that brings no other value to the team.

I pray Feige drops the whole supporting cast and choose who he wants for all the x-men, Colossus included.

Has anyone seen the article about an inside source close to Marvel is developing a Storm series??

It could work. It’s all about the villain and the xmen have lots of those. If they choose a great villain I would definitely watch a Storm movie

How is it that I could write "I hope Deadpool gets to interact with other characters" and you interpreted it as "I hope they bring back Colossus and he's exactly the same"? Huh? I want him interacting with the other stars of the MCU, not just sectioned off in his own exclusive little sandbox. What the hell does Colossus even have to do with it?

Was it announced somewhere that the CGI version of Colossus from DP and DP2 is a prerequisite of any future Deadpool appearances? I don't know why everyone is assuming that. My prediction is that the MCU will have their own unique, source-loyal version of Piotr and he may not have any scenes with Wade anyway. I would think the one more likely to carry over (still unconfirmed of course) would be Vanessa.

The tweet you're quoting is literally the same actor that played "the CGI version of Colossus from DP and DP2" replying to an article about a Ryan Reynolds Deadpool being a "Go."

I think people are reading his tweet as him coming back. I hope that's wrong (I wouldn't be surprised if he knows nothing. Remember when Liefeld was *****ing online about Feige not continuing Reynolds' DP?). His Colossus looked comic accurate, but we shouldn't settle for "better than the previous Fox version." Let's shoot for the stars.

You shared a tweet from the actor who portrayed Colossus in the Deadpool movies, so it's not that difficult to understand that that's who I thought you were talking about.

I really don't think there is any need for your patronising and ill-mannered tone either.

Why not both? Films to cover the big storylines and bring in those box office billions and a series to further develop the characters, feature smaller villains, life at the mansion etc. There will surely be multiple film and streaming series based on the X-men.

Oh I haven't thought of that. Deadpool as a D+ series. I hope thats the plan.

I think it's pretty clear DP3 will be a movie, but after that a series would be dope as well. I tend to think that Deadpool's presence in the MCU should focus more on characters coming into his world rather than Deadpool invading other films and series and potentially ruining the tone. But say 10 half hour episodes featuring cameos from across the MCU would give them a lot of space to play with the different character interactions. One episode featuring Thor, the Guardians in another, Spidey if Sony will allow it.

That sounds like the ideal way to handle it.

That way we get the best of Deadpool without burdening the other MCU properties.

Again agreed. No reason not to use all the tools available to maximise the beneficial impact that X-Men and mutants in general can bring. Both films and shows can bring very different positives.

A true blue LG boyscout like DP Colossus would totally work as the heart of the X-Men. :p He'd be the guy calling the others out when they let their personal angsts or ideological visions get in the way of actually helping people.
