Marvel Films MCU X-Men - Part 4

Yep. And the MCU lacks not only female heroes by now, but mostly female villains as well. Mystique should be in the "hall of fame" of female supervillains.

I really can't stand superhero Mystique in the Fox X-Men films. It's nauseating. Mystique helping the X-Men possibly to suit her goals, yes I get that. But joining and leading the team is obnoxious.

I could see Mystique becoming a Loki-esque character. Showing up periodically through X-Films and other MCU crossover films to be a thorn in the X-Men's side.

Don't forget Emma Frost. She should be a recurring villain as well who can ocassionally help the X-Men in their goals.

Mystique doesn't have to appear in the X-Men movies at first. She could be in other movies, could even see her working with the Government at some point ala Freedom Force.

I wanted her in the Black Widow movie
Interesting idea.

Bring me Rogue and Mystique against Carol! I'm sure Feige has this possibility in mind.

And no, Carol don't have to be gone/written off.
I didn't realise MCU CM was going to be quite so powerful! I'm sure many fans want to see this and any downtime Carol has as a result can mostly take place offscreen so no one would be missing anything.

Mystique is one of the most important relationships Rogue has. You can argue she wasn't a big part of TAS, but Gambit was. And as much as I want to see Gambit and Rogue's relationship, I don't want to see Rogue put in the box of the "girl who can't **** her boyfriend". First because... no. Second because that was her main drama in the OT. Third because her relationship with Raven brings that soap opera element that is part of the X-Men. And last, because that mother/daughter relationship is more unique in the MCU.

My bonus reason for wanting to see Raven in the MCU: LGBT representation. I need that. I want that. And Raven is one of the biggest.

I get you, but this character you're talking about isn't Mystique at all. She only has the same name.
The mother daughter relationship is something I want to see. Also another reason I was pissed at losing Quicksilver and the sibling relationship with SW.

That could be a good defining moment for MCU Mystique to set her apart. Have her kill Carol's boyfriend in cold blood to show she's not the one to be messed with. They need to establish her as the calculating supervillain she is.
Give the film version the personality and character from the comics and we'll be good.

Wow I have to give my support for all the ideas here. I really love the idea of seeing Mystique in Black Widow, and then again with Rogue in a Captain Marvel sequel.

Introduce Wolverine in some kind of Hulk movie. I know there are rights issues here but call it "Marvel Vs" or something. Establish Logan's Weapon X background and show him as an agent for Canada's version of SHEILD. Bring in some Weapon X and Alpha Flight shenanigans and see how that stuff is received by audiences.

Introduce Storm in a Black Panther flashback. Show T'challa's first time outside of Wakanda as he learns more about Africa. He encounters Storm as she travels from Cairo to her mother's village. She's a significant figure in his life as someone who counters his insular Wakandan perspective. Make it one important scene as a flashback, with light flirtation. This keeps the option open for more overlap later.

Introducing and fleshing out some of these A-Listers will really build up Avengers level hype for the first X-men movie. It also means that the actual X-men movie can do less set-up for these characters and really focus on more characters. Characters like Cyclops, Jean, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Kitty, and some others are core X-men that can only get developed in an X-men movie so now they get more time since other movies are doing some of the work.

I'm tired and rambling ideas others have said before but these last pages have made me excited.

Just to be clear, what was Mystique's whole beef with Carol Danvers to begin with? Old enemies? Slept with her man?

Carol was a hindrance to some of Raven's jobs and her attempts to get even got Carol's lover killed, making things personal between them. Destiny also told Raven that Carol was going to ruin Rogue, and part of Raven's attacks on Carol was attempts at heading off that prophecy.

IMO if Marvel does the Xmen then they should do a complete reboot.

Wipe everything and start with the original line up ( Prof X, Beast, Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Iceman, Angel ) as teens and then do a Harry Potter style development ending with Dark Phoenix.

Cassandra Nova would be a good female villain to do one day too, a proper ruthless one. ;)

Harry Potter style development over multiple years with students graduating and newer students going through the ranks would be cool. I don't think Dark Phoenix has to happen to every iteration of Jean, especially after it's been done twice in a short space of time. I'd rather have her around for a very long time and I don't like the predictability of knowing how it is going to go. I don't think DP should be inevitable.

I feel like we're going to see mutants everywhere in the MCU. Some more obvious choices like the mentioned above (Rogue/Carol, Storm/Panther, Wolverine/Hulk), but some unexpected one too.

Also, Marvel won't wait long for a Wolverine solo movie. It was already reported that the executuves are dying to put their hands in the character. That's another great opportunity to give other mutants/X-Men more development. Make it like the Captain America movies.

Oh I hadn’t heard that about Wolverine. I wonder if that means that he won’t be in the first X-Men film. A Wolverine film can certainly mean more opportunities to feature/introduce mutant characters.

It was back when the deal was announced. The Disney execs are crazy to reboot Wolverine, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Winter Soldier had Black Widow, Bucky, Falcon and Fury. I'm sure there's enough room for like 2 or 3 X-Men in the Wolverine movies.

I know some of you though about Rogue (myself included) while watching the Captain Marvel trailer. But did you also think about how Jean and a Phoenix adaptation would look like?

How did Rogue only get the Flying and Strength, but nothing to do with the energy powers, was that ever explained, or was it just waved away as "Comics lol"??

The solution is simple. Have Mystique kill Jude Law.
He may not survive Captain Marvel, though.

This is one of my favorite ideas/pitches for X-Men. Harry Potter-izing the franchise and developing/maturing the kids through multiple movies.

I'm not sure I'd end it on Dark Phoenix, though. On second thought, if they ever do a Dark Phoenix adaptation, I WOULD want it to be the end. The end of the core First Class/Original X-Men team we've followed and watched grow for 10+ years (Scott, Storm, Jean, Bobby). Kinda like what A4 is doing with the OG 6 members. The movie could end with Logan or Scott assembling a new group of kids post-Jean death to be the next generation of X-Men, founding "Jean Grey School For Higher Learning" in honor of Jean's memory. Charles at this point would be dead too.

Dark Phoenix could be insane if they made it like the X-Men/mutant version of Thanos and slowly hinted at it/built it up. I see Marvel waiting until 2029 or 2030 to do it, though.

Yup, definitely. They will be properly integrated into the MCU and Marvel could use the MCU films to build up the first X-Men movie ala Avengers.

Imagine how much hype Storm being in BP2 would bring, imagine how excited that would get people for X-Men.

Wolverine is coming sooner rather than later. Even the Russos wanted him in IW over every other X-Men character. I just hope they can go one movie without Logan. Establish the core first.

There's definitely a lot of untapped potential in a Dark Phoenix movie.

In live action it could be that she wasnt connected long enough. Simple enough I suppose.

Ms. Marvel didn't have the energy absorption powers back then.

Oh, so you haven't heard. :DV:

Jude Law is not playing Mar-Vell, he's playing Yon-Rogg.

I really can't stand superhero Mystique in the Fox X-Men films. It's nauseating.

She arguably did reform and become a superhero (at least not a villain), albeit on the basis of self-interest, early on in her time in the Claremont comics, being willing to work for the government for a pardon.

BTW it might seem a little misogynistic/homophobic if a lesbian villain was depicted as earlier having abandoned her newborn Kurt though there might not be a backlash if it's emphasized that she had no other choice to survive in the time and place.

That's where the Spy Mystique idea came from. She could truly be the ultimate agent for the Government, able to become anyone. But I see her doing it for her own selfish reasons. The Government has connections to something or someone Raven wants, so she works with them for the time being.

She would be a very easy insert into a Black Widow movie, as a secondary antagonist.

I don't think there would be backlash to that. Mystique is a villain first and foremost and there would be positive female/LGBTQ representation in the movie to counterbalance Mystique being a villain. Marvel could write a sympathetic reason for Mystique abandoning a baby Kurt. It's been awhile so I've forgot the reason why she threw Kurt into a well in the comics. I could do without Azazel being being his dad, though. Making Kurt a literal half-demon instead of just a mutant who LOOKS like one, is not appealing to me personally and it takes away a lot of the symbolism for what Kurt represents.

I don't know about Kurt in the comics, but didn't the TAS explain that Mystique was posing as a German noblewoman and Kurt being born blue and furry would have exposed her?
