I reckon he’ll get a tiny cameo but not like, a catch phrase or something like that

As I mentioned in the other thread, very exciting to have a talent like that linked to X-Men, as well as just exciting to get X-Men rumours at all. He’d be great as Xavier if they go that route, but could also be good as Magneto.

Interesting.
:hmm

If he's saying he'd like to be Xavier, it makes me think that they may not have offered him a particular role , but they're interested in him joining the MCU.

I could see him as Xavier or Magneto.

He’d be fine as either but I’d rather he get the role he wants.

This WB drama just makes me appreciate Marvel Studios Feige all the more.

They aren't perfect to be sure, but they're a steady, reliable ship for the most part .

The recent WB head really makes me look forward to D23 and what stable plans Feige and Co have in store for us.
Also why I’m glad X-Men are away from Fox now. Despite the fact that WB and Fox can put out very good films every now and then, there’s no consistency and weak leadership.

Did I do the meme thing right :p

What this does tell us, tho, is that Erik (and potentially Charles) being black, is on the table-- meaning it's a discussion they're actively having.

I'm not gonna even hold you, if they made Erik black, I would be excited as hell, because there are so many things you can do, differently, by exploring a character like that through the lense of blackness.

I remember another Breaking Bad star, Bryan Cranston, saying he wants to play Sinister. But that was many years ago.

It would be great to see both in the MCU.
When an actor has ability and wants a specific role it’s a good sign that they’d have the passion and put the work in to nail the character as best they can rather than give a standard performance. Funny that the 2 breaking Bad Big Bads are interested in big X-Men roles.

Haha. Yes, I think there’s a good chance of this happening now and it could add another layer to these characters.

Speaking of Cranston, he’d also make a great Xavier. Granted, this casting suggestion is a bit on the nose considering it’s yet another bald character(only this time he’d be playing a good guy) but I think he’d be a good fit for the part as well. I think both Giancarlo and Cranston would make great Xaviers, and if either of them were cast I think, given both actors have played villainous characters before, the casting would indicate Marvel intends to take the character in a more morally ambiguous direction than in previous iterations.

With these two it could be like Breaking Bad again where the villain is a proper villain and the “hero” becomes a serious villain too. :D

I don’t want Xavier to become too villainous though, a bit morally ambiguous as you say would be fine.

Giancarlo will be such an amazing Charles. I honestly can’t wait to see him in action.

I think with giancarlo more than sir pat stew, we could also see the more, ah no other way to say it, the sexy side of him. Like more of his relationship with Moira, Gabrielle haller, Amelia etc. lilandra?

Feels like there is a decent chance of this if legit talks are happening between him and Marvel and if he's really interested in and expressed a desire to play Xavier.

fitting the xmen into this marvel cinematic universe will be a really tough task that will upset portions of the fan base.

concessions have to be made and things have to be altered to make it work. i, for one, am fully on board with however they do it. this has to fit within the movies, not alter the movies to make it work like the comics.

adjust expectations.

Cranston as Prof X and Giancarlo as Magneto.

How we feeling?
I must confess that Walter White is still the first thing that comes to my mind when I think about Cranston, so it's a little hard for me to not see him in a more villainous role. But he's a great actor, so...

When it comes to Esposito, although he's also known as villains, there's something about his voice, and the way he talks... an eloquence, a calmness, serenity, stuff I'd attribute more to Charles.

Cranston was freaking out all the time :p
