I'm assuming if they have no drm plans, they'll specifically state that, if they do however, then yea we won't hear it at the show. I think we'll know their plans based on what they don't say. I mean if I were Sony I'd go out of my way to show how much more open and less invasive my system is compared to One, if indeed it is more open and less invasive

What Sony does not say can be as telling as what they do say.

At least the games looked good especially the revival of Killer Instinct, Sunset Overdrive, and Ryse. But this conference was really dragged down by the price point and Microsoft completely ignoring people's complaints about the system.

Killer Instinct looks great to me although I've never played it before and wasn't interested enough after hearing it was a possible exclusive to look it up. Sunset Overdrive I'll take a bit of convincing on but it is something different to their normal exclusives. Ryse doesn't look revolutionary in gameplay terms but I'm sure I'll enjoy it...love that setting & style.

I think them falling behind early this generation is why they could be willing to take the hit early on.

If they're willing to do so, and then after getting their base, create different tiers of hardware...and getting out a $599 beast mode system to try and recoup, I dunno...maybe the early beating they took this generation would drive them to do so.

If it's the same price, then I wouldn't expect them to announce it. Perhaps to leave Microsoft to take some licks for it until the time Sony announces the price. If it's lower, then they need to announce today.

Depending on DRM issues & assuming no other important info, they could probably take that lead anyway. Most of the people interested in a Beast system will be likely buying Day One so $100 is a lot to lose on each and every one of those guys. But yeah, no price between $399 & $500 would be at all surprising.

hmm the only game I seem Excited about is Titanfall mostly cause it reminded me of when I got in Gundum wing and Seed series as shows and the pilot's would actually leave their mech's and fight them selves on occasion. That seem's to be the only game that grabbed me, I think I 'll look over some other stuff there must some thin else. . So far that was the one on XB1. Not much else.


As for the price. 5.99$ hahha they are screwed. well ok if it was 600 $ then they would be screwed.

ok I all most forgot about Killer Instinct. other wise I think this still stand. I look at some others to see if I was interested in any thing else besides that.

Some great exclusives for XB1 But the smart glass talk was a turn off and no address on the controversy about used games and stuff,I was kinda overall impressed But still am leaning more on PS4,Sony's conference is what I'm really interested in today!

yeah....I thought the buzz was that X1 was going to be around $399 and PS4 $349......

I'm surprised X1 will be $100 higher. probably that Kinect 2.0........lol

but, that pretty much ensures I am NOT getting an X1 right away, regardless of all the other DRM/Used game stuff. even if X1 didn't have all those restrictions or the creepy Kinect thing, $500 is pushing it........

if I were to ever get one, I'd probably wait at least a year or so for the price to drop and to see how all the issues play out.

if Sony can come out at a $400 price point, and clarify how they will handle used games, and if PSN will remain free for most services, well, they've pretty much got me........

That was an analyst prediction mostly based on expected component costs. So MS could probably afford to sell at $399 & Sony could probably afford to sell at $349 based on his guesses. But they'll end up choosing whatever figure they think will maximise profits. Obviously at $500 they don't need to sell as many or incur as much cost to get the same return (although they'll end up with a smaller initial install base).

well, if the PS4 is $500, too, then I'm definitely going to wait at least a year before buying either console.

I'll just stick with my PS3 and 360 for the time being.

let the new kids fight it out with each other for awhile and iron out the kinks.

I'm in no particular rush to upgrade to the new consoles, unless there's a game that really, really looks good and enticing.

however, even with that, I'm gonna wait till that game is actually released. I'm not making the same mistake I did with Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Back in 09, Versus was one of the reasons why I decided to get a PS3. I figured in a year or two, it would be out.

lol they learned nothing from the often occasionally done daily TV evening news reports from what was shown on how Nintendo picked up the casual's which it seemed that MS was catering to with the XB1 . lol Nothing. 500$ they may not fallow news but as soon as the casuals hear that price from retailers in their stores. lol

I couldn't watch it as I had work to do, but it seems they had a better show than I expected*. Too bad their box and their business policies get a solid 'F' from me.

* It'll take real journalists (ha) to suss out which games are timed pseudo-exclusives and which are already going to competing platforms since companies were (allegedly) paid not to mention other platforms in some cases.

I did think the Halo trailer was really cool, but I'm a Halo fanboy. It won't be enough to warrant me buying a Xbox One though.
