Mission: Impossible - Fallout - Part 1

Cavill still makes the unfortunate choice of hitting his r's too hard while doing an American accent. You'd think after 6+ years he'd be better at that.

I don't have a link to it, but Henry Cavill posted a Tribute video to his mustache which he just shaved off.
Pretty Funny.

A lot of the Mission Films have been on Cable television recently.
FX have been showing Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation.
Starz has been showing the first two films quite a bit in the last few weeks..

Curiously, they have not been broadcasting MI III a lot.
And thats the one that introduces Michelle Monaghan's character.

It just seems odd to me that they are regularly broadcasting the other films, but not the one that is most relevant/connected to the next installment.

MI3 certainly has the best villain, and I really wish Maggie Q got to do more in the franchise. Same with Paula Patton.

I saw that; it's hilarious.

I really hope Cavill lands some more comedic roles. He seems like a naturally funny guy. It's a shame that the DCEU movies haven't utilized him much in that way. He had a few nice moments in MOS and JL, but not enough.

Reportedly, MCquarrie asked both to come back, neither was available because of their busy schedules.

Yeah... I've heard that but it wouldn't surprise me if he offered them crappy parts and that's the real reason they said no. Aside from Cruise, Ferguson and Pegg, there really weren't any meaty roles in Rogue Nation. I highly doubt Paula and Maggie would have been given much to do.

I didn't think Maggie Q had that much to do in MI III.
She was good, but they should have given her even more to do .
And if they didn't offer Paula a huge part, that was their mistake.

She was a major reason that I liked Ghost Protocol.

Yeah, I loved Paula in GP.

Hopefully the ladies have prominent roles in this film. As awesome as Rebecca Ferguson was in RN, it was another case of "we can only have one prominent female character in an action movie."

Well we have a plethora of riches this time around.
Rebecca Ferguson.
Vanessa Kirby.
Michelle Monaghan.
Angela Basset.

No mention of Angela Bassett?

Bassett’s “That’s the job” line was one of my favorite moments from the trailer. So much sass.

I have hopes for a seventh film.
But, I think eight might be pushing it.
If they stop at 6, I am okay with that, too.

Just curious, how many of the MI films have had the same stunt coordinator?

A partial answer to my own question, Wade Eastwood was the stunt coordinator on Rogue Nation and Fallout.

Generally the directors get to pick their crews so every time there's a new director, there's a new stunt coordinator. Eastwood's repeating only because McQuarrie is, and directors like to stick with the crews they trust.

Let’s rank IMF directors shall we?

1. Anthony Hopkins: This is not mission difficult, Mr. Hunt, it's mission impossible. Difficult should be a walk in the park for you.

2. Laurence Fishburne: He’s a godd*m invisible man. Wells, not Ellison, in case you want to be cute again.

3. Henry Czerny: You have bribed, cajoled and killed and you have done it using loyalties on the inside, you want to shake hands with the devil, that's fine with me, I just want to make sure you do it in hell.

4. Alec Baldwin: Hunt is the living manifestation of destiny - and he has made you his mission.

5. Tom Wilkinson: Now I've been orderded to take you to Washington where they will hang the Kremlin bombing on you and your team - unless you were to escape after assaulting Brandt and me.

Kitteridge was always my favorite director.
He wasn't afraid to be ruthless.

Fishburne sounded like he knew what he was doing.

Pic from last months Empire, I think

I don't love it .
But I watched it again recently and I have come to appreciate it a bit more.

I've always liked it and the motorbike chase sequence at the end is still one of my favourite action sequences ever.
