Like the first trailer this one did nothing for me. I'm beyond tired of the "Ethan goes rogue" trope, and I haven't liked the Marvel-esque schtick the series has adopted under Bad Robot. I'm also still frustrated that Kraemer won't be doing the music.

Overall I just can't get excited for this one. Not sure there's anything left to do with this franchise in its current iteration.

What I meant was the more comedic, almost slapstick approach the series has taken recently. It’s a perfectly valid way of making movies, it’s just not to my liking. I preferred the darker and more serious style of the first few films (my favorites’s still De Palma’s). I'll admit to having some contrarian tendencies, but I hope it's not just for its own sake; there happen to be plenty of popular things I enjoy, the M:I franchise just isn't one of them (anymore).

I was hoping McQuarrie’s take would be similar to his work on Jack Reacher, but that hasn’t been the case (at least it’s been an improvement over the abysmal Ghost Protocol).

I’ll probably end up seeing it though, if only because the rest of my family will want to.

Haha, just watched that British talkshow thing with the cast on it, some funny stuff. Henry's talking about examples of stuff he was nervous about, and he's all "I look behind me and there's Tom Cruise zooming up real close in his helicopter...", something like that.

Just funny how casually it was delivered. Yeah man, of course Cruise flies his own helicopter. :P

yeah and you have to admire how Cruise was a good sport about watching the footage of him breaking his ankle.
Couldn't have been easy.
And you know he is going to be asked about it every single interview as they do press for the movie.

Yes it is a trailer which you would know if you gave it more than few seconds

It showed a little more than I wanted to see of Ethan's Jumping scene, in terms of an extended dialogue between Ethan and Benj. So, I bolted.
Action scenes are one thing.

But in terms of the humor, I like to know as little as possible.
It was wise of The U.S version to not show the extended version of the scene.

I think the fact that he is returning makes him the best enemy they have faced yet. He is immediately a stronger villain, though I hope we do get some more back story on the guy.
