That's kinda like The Syndicate though, if the Syndicate had members with personalities (besides the Bone Doctor) and not faceless dudes.

The Syndicate is an entire network. I mean a team vs team flick.

I'd dig the idea that the Syndicate, now that they're revealed, has gone into splinter cells, with one specific team being opposed to Hunt's team. Make them just as colorful but clearly more amoral than Ethan's team, and make it clear they'll do any job to arrange their own security and peace of mind and you might actually have a good villain.

Part of me would want to see Jonathon Rhys Meyers return as the leader of the opposition, in part to give them a fairly sympathetic but clearly charismatic center figure for the opposing team. Give us some villains who have to be just as tenacious and creative as Hunt's had to be to keep up with him.

It sucks that Meyers is supposedly a drug addict now. Yikes.

Meyers has been fighting his inner demons for a while. In fact, it's hard for him to get gigs now; his Dracula role for NBC had a strict guideline for him to follow, seeing him as a liability to the company.

After the photos were caught him, he went back to rehab. Very sad.

... Damn. That's rough. Almost looks like photos from a movie set.

Great news . Can we get more ladies this time though? Rebecca Ferguson kicked so much ass, but it would've been great to see Paula Patton and Maggie Q back as well. Even if they're going for a new team, they should have more than just one girl on the team.

Another thing on MTMP on Ferguson returning to MI6, hearing she has left open her schedule for a MISSION shoot next August

I would love for Maggie Q or Paula Patton to return as well. Break up the sausage fest.

Agreed. McQuarrie supposedly tried to get both of them back for RN, but they were unavailable (thanks to Warcraft and Stalker, I guess). Hopefully he'll make the effort again.

Yeah me too, those 2 with Ferguson part of the team as well would be :hubba. You know, for character development :woot:.

I wouldn't bring both back as these movies don't have enough screen time for the rest outside of Ethan anyway, Ilsa being the exception.

I'd bring Maggie back and trim Renner and make it a 4 person team with Ilsa still a wild card working interdependently, I like her and Ethan having a Batman/Catwoman type dynamic.

RN got a pass due to the dreaded scheduling conflicts. But if this movie gets none of them back either, then the whole "they see the women as interchangeable" complaint all of a sudden looks much more credible.

Especially if they bring Rhames, Renner, and Pegg back again.

All I care about is the return of Ilsa. She is the one that has to come back.

Mission Accomplished: Rebecca Ferguson First Tom Cruise Leading Lady Doing a Second “M:I”

Confirmed: Rebecca Ferguson is about to make movie history. She’s the first actress to return as Tom Cruise’s leading lady in the “Mission Impossible” series. I am told that Ferguson is signed, sealed and delivered for part 6, to be directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who is also returning from part 5, “Rogue Nation.”

The Stockholm born Ferguson made a huge impression as Ilsa in “Rogue Nation,” more than her predecessors like Paula Patton, Thandie Newton, or Michelle Monaghan. None of them made to another installment of the franchise, and their characters were never mentioned again.

But as Ilsa, Ferguson came across as a modern day Lauren Bacall crossed with Ingrid Bergman. When she returns to “MI,” Ferguson will have had a bunch of new releases including the hotly anticipated “Girl on the Train,” as well as “Florence Foster Jenkins” with Meryl Streep, and “The Snowman” with Michael Fassbender.
