the worst was Anil Kapoor as Brij Nath, what an over acting pathetic ham fisted performances. Single handed embarrassment to all Indian actors across the board.

The way he was screaming like a ***** loser "now you must fiiiiiiind meeee!!" It was so badly acted.

Great film tarnished by a loser performance

I confess I have a tiny crush on the chick that played the assassin. She just has a very pleasant face to look at.

MI: 4 is without a doubt the best film of the series .

MI: 4
MI: 3
MI: 1

MI: II was pure garbage .

The only good things I can say about MI: II is that the bike chase scene at the end was good, and it had a Metallica song :p

The first time I saw the movie I wasn't really a big fan of the title sequence, but on my second viewing I found it unbelievably cool and fun to pick stuff out from. Anyone else have a similar experience?

The title sequence was very reminiscent of the classic tv series opening which would give you a brief glimpse of scenes involving mission for the episode. I'm glad brad bird decided to incorporate that in the film . :woot:

And M:I II gets too much hate.

I used to hate MI2 because it was the complete opposite of where I wanted the franchise to go. I watched it recently and enjoyed it as a decent action film.

*Sigh*

When people question stuff like that they're really just taking the fun out of movies.
What? That's just a terrible thing to say really. Are you also the guy that says not to judge movies like Transformers to harshly because they're a "popcorn flick" or a "summer blockbuster"?

Logic is for boring nerds.

I wanted Jack Bauer to just kill him during the last season of 24...

I thought it was an homage to the first MI movie where he couldn't touch the ground. :funny:

That's exactly what I thought too lol.

Anyways, I really enjoyed this film. Might not be my favorite, but really well done. I thought everything done in Dubai was amazing.

Unfortunately I missed the first couple of minutes cause of a late date, what did Holloway say to Patton's character when
he was dying
?

The scene never got to that point in the beginning but when Patton's character was replaying the events to Hunt after breaking him out, you could assume it was along the lines of "I love you" etc. Considering he was saying stuff like "you're so beautiful, I should have told you" before she leaned forward.

Ah okay, I figured that was probably it, but you can never be too sure with these Mission Impossible movies haha.

I can forgive plot holes in films. Because I'm not looking for them. These are movies. If we always stuck to the logic of real life movies would be less enjoyable. Unless it's contrived as hell and shown to be pretty apparent that it's lazy, then I'll criticize it.

I always give a film a fair chance before I see it. Without any prejudice whatsoever. I did with TF3. Now I thought it sucked, but I'm glad I went in not expecting to hate it, because there's nothing worse going into a movie wanting to hate it, because your proper judgement may be skewed.

Each film is its own thing. I judge a film on their own merit only. I hate comparisons. Now seeing something like The Descendants, I'm not going to go in finding the same thing I would out of MI4 or anything, but I judge them exactly the same, no less from eachother because one is a "blockbuster."

Saw the movie last night and really enjoyed it. I enjoyed that it was very much a 'team thing', [BLACKOUT]with only the 4 of them and not having a HQ and I thought Pegg worked as more of a central character too.[/BLACKOUT]

Cruise is good (sitting on top of that Tower, he's bonkers) and Brad Bird handles the action and the film, in general, very well.. 3 quality animated films and now this. He's just a brilliant film maker.

2 somewhat criticisms... The final shot lingered just a little bit too long on Cruise's beaming smile.. it was just a bit... cheesy really. And the intro credits, while they looked good and were well done (I noticed someone has said this was close to the style of the original show which is a nice touch) I was thinking, at the time, "Why am I seeing bits of the film without much context, would it not make more sense to have some kind of recap of [BLACKOUT]how he ended up in prison? I suppose it might somewhat clash with the reveal at the end but you could still do it and not give much away..[/BLACKOUT]

The intro was basically Bird's homage to the original series opening when they did that every week. Which I noticed right off the bat and was like, "that's pretty decent."

This movie was good, but the drama in it was eye-rolling garbage.

Chillax!!..........

Did'nt they do that on the 1st film??

And M:I II gets too much hate.
I just so happened to rent M:I II the other day and I can see why it would be hated by many, it is a completely boring action movie, the build up to the main plot is slow and you have about 20 minutes of Ethan Hunt either walking or fighting in slow motion or he and Thandie Newton making googly eyes at each other with a female chorus singing in the background, oh and not to mention John Woo's trademark use of white doves in all the action scenes.

This movie was equivalent to Batman & Robin which probably explains why it wasn't until six years to get M:I III made.

Batman & Robin? I'll have to disagree.

By the way, Brad Bird said they had to cut a whole action sequence taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from the movie in early stages of pre-production, so that'll likely be a place they'll go to when Mission: Impossible 5 happens.

Where did that pertain to the plot? Sounds interesting.
