I like most of those. :o

That flapping sound you hear is your point flying out the window.

Basically what you meant to say was 'chaseter doesn't like John Woo movies'

After watching my marathon, this is how I would rank them:

Mission Impossible II - People may hate this, but its the best Mission Impossible film as far as I'm concerned. The pretty boy hair, the sunglasses, the rock climbing scene, an awesome rendition of the MI theme by Limp Bizkit as well as Metallica's "I Disappear", the chemistry with the elegant Thandie Newton, Anthony Hopkins, a great plot with the Chimera virus, the motorcycle chase scene, and the one of the best final fights in cinema history against the detestable Sean Ambrose featuring a real knife to the eye. This is Tom Cruise at his best. If I had any complaints about this, its the mask switch was used too many times and the Gladiator-like music from Hans Zimmer didn't fit.

Mission Impossible I - The original classic. Intellectual and thought provoking. After all this time, its amazing how iconic the tank explosion scene still is. My only flaws with it: No surveillance cameras in one of the the vault rooms of the CIA's headquarters? Seriously? And I hated...HATED that Jim Phelps turned out to be the mole. With that said, the twist should've been saved near the end when he showed up inside the train instead of giving it away halfway through the film.

Mission Impossible IV - A fun film to watch with my favorite scene being Hunt's climbing the Burj Khalifa building. What I didn't like was
Luther not being a part of the IMF team, Jeremy Renner's character not being used to his full potential, Hunt drawing a detailed photo on his hand, the technology being over the top, and Hendricks being the worst villain in the series. It was a freaking joke that Hunt was having trouble with him. It would've been like seeing Brad Pitt getting beat up by Stellan Skarsgard.

Mission Impossible III - The weakest film of the series even if it has Dr. Manhattan in it. I hated that Nyah was forgotten about, The Rabbit's Foot was a MacGuffin, and the unforgivable sin of not showing us what Ethan Hunt had to go through to steal it. Ironically, the movie has the best villain in the franchise with Owen Davian. Phillip Seymour Hoffman's portrayal was bone chilling to watch especially during the torture scene.

What was John Woo's last really good movie?

Woo's American films haven't been strong due to the Hollywood system. I know that some may like them, but they don't capture what Woo did back in China: reinventing the action genre in Hong Kong cinema.

Went ahead and ordered a copy of #2. Ya'll have me wanting to see it again now.

And I hated...HATED that Jim Phelps turned out to be the mole.

You weren't the only one. That's why Peter Graves turned down the role, and Greg Morris walked out of the theater early over it. I wasn't such a fan of the show that it really bothered me but it's understandable why people would be upset.

I said it before but it was funny how people's most fondest memory of the first movie is not understanding the plot at all.

I think there was a joke when Mission Impossible 2 was announced

"In Mission Impossible 2, Tom Cruise has to explain the plot of Mission Impossible 1"

I can see people not liking Jim being the bad guy since he was the hero of the TV show. I guess it's like revealing Max Smart as a mass murderer in the Get Smart series finale.

Care to elaborate?

I am a fan of all the movies and I still think the bike chase from Mi-II is as good of an action sequence as you'll see.

MI: II's bike sequence was pretty good. One of the only good things I can say about it.

I like "Mission: Impossible 3" the best of the series. Hunt wasn't a very complicated character until that and J.J. Abrams embraced the team aspect.

"Mission: Impossible 4" took the series in a great direction from there. Liked it as well.

The first two Mission's have great moments and set pieces, but as a whole, I think they are good movies at best.

Yeah just opinion. It was all just stuff that bothered me when i watched the movie and stuff me and my girlfriend made fun of the movie for. I like the first one the best, we both just didnt like this one. Ohh i liked the Incredibles a lot when i saw it ( : wish there were a sequel to that.

Oh, I thought you hated Brad Bird at first! I wish there was an Incredibles sequel as well.

Just curious, what did you and your girlfriend make fun of in the movie?

Just watched this tonight. Pretty cool film. I MUST have one of those BMWs!!

That's because it was John Woo!

Blackjack is the only one on that list I haven't seen. However, I'm a huge fan of John Woo's style for action. And, to answer your question, go rent Red Cliff I & II.

MI 1 is most remembered for a plot that no understood.

I don't see how as Ethan had to steal the NOC list to prove his innocence. If anything was confusing, it was how Ethan was able to figure out Phelps was Job until I rewatched it with the hotel stamp on the bible giving him away. I forgot about that part.

I think the film would've worked better if Hunt thought Jim was the mole, but at the end, it turns out Jim actually died from the gunshot and the mole was somebody else.

Watched GP again on BD last night, still as excellent as it was in the cinema, I havent seen M:I 1 in a while, but for me GP is the best in the series by some way, 2 was average, 3 was better but not by much, which was surprising considering Abrams did it. I hope if we do get a number 5 it manages to live upto 4.

The movie has become one of my iPad movies for a trip I'm going on. It's a really great Movie

I do agree with some poster here. Paula Patton has some intriguing facial features. Sometimes she looked like Obama and sometimes she looked too manly.

I laughed at the poor window glove flying away

"bzzz.......weeeeeeeee!!!!!!"

Lots of moments where you had to suspend belief. ALOT

My mom even questioned " no ones going to look out their window?"

-the push start car without keys

Pegg was great

Don't be silly. Face/Off is one of the best action movies ever made. It's universal critical acclaim supports this.

Well I don't think it's one of the best action movies ever made (it hasn't aged particularly well, imo), but it's no turd to be sure.
