Revenge of the Fallen Moments in the movie that made you go "WTF?!?"

Here's my take on some of the question raised in this thread:

also the buggest WTF moment for me was when the major in DC (who was in the first one) is communicating with the NEST team. He was in Qutar in the first one, and in that movie they said tthe only ones that survived was lennox's team.

They're 2 different characters, both played by Glenn Morshower. In the first he was Coronel Sharp and he was killed in Blackouts attack. Here the character was named General Morshower (named after the actor). Bay said he liked Morshower in the first so he decided to bring him back for the second. It's been reported he named the character with the actors name before he even offered him the part.

would've liked to see it explained how Optimus became a Prime, considering the ones they showed in flashbacks all looked very alien and Egyptianish...not to mention i thought they all sacrificed themselves to keep the Matrix safe....yet thousands of years later there's still 1 Prime out there...was he part of the originals, and was chosen not to die? or did he get the title bestowed upon him somehow?

At the time of The Fallens betrayal, they already had descendents (whatever that is in the movie-verse) .In the novel, Jetfire says that after they sacrificed themselves, their descendents were hunted down and destroyed by The Fallen and his followers, all were killed but a lonely "orphan" that was hidden after his "parents" were killed. That was Optimus.

Seriously though, can anybody explain why there were constructicons fighting the soldiers while Devastator is climbing the pyramid? Anyone....please.

Some theories have come up about that one. Here's mine:

Bay screwed up a perfect opportunity to have Mikaela rip her shirt apart to bandage Sam's hand.

Maybe Bumblebee had a first aid kit in his trunk?

Mikaela ripping her shirt... trully a lost oportunity. But the first aid kit explanation is more likely. Or Mikaelas hand bag. You know how much crap girls keep in those things?! LOL.

About Alice: If TFs can mimic a human why copy cars and other Veihicles?

In the novel there's an explanation for Alice's "human" form, she didn't transcan a real human but a state of the art animatronic figure of Alice from "Alice in Wonderland" at a new amusement park. Leo, after being thrown out of the room, goes to the recreation room and watches a news report on TV about the opening of the amusement park. He seen the figure and is stunned at the resemblance with the girl that is upstairs in his room. He runs upstairs. In the film the whole scene was cut, we only see Leo come in and say "Hey, Sam, your bed-buddy, Alice..."
So, Alice looks human because she trans-scanned a machine that is made to look like a human.

Still doesnt make sense. The primes were the first robots. So all the TF we see now are practically their descendants. If only Prime... You know what... **** this ****!

Is this a serious question? How about because not every Transformer is human sized.
And the less obvious, more important reasons, humans can't fly or drive. :o

It is. That's my WTF moment. That people care so much about a ten second sight gag.
My WTF moment is that you haven't realized how many people think MOST of this movie was a WTF moment.

Gag after gag after gag after gag (which, btw, is another indication that Production/director knew their movie didn't have any other worth... until I.... gagged!

Hyperbole at it's best. I'm tempted to count up the actual gags...but I won't.

I did it anyway. So, going by this eight page thread, here are the gags people apparently have problems with:

The Twins
Two shots of dogs humping
Mom's pot brownie bender
The liquid inside Bumblebee
Jetfire's parachute
Devastator's balls
Wheelie humping Fox
Government guy parachutes
Turturro's ass

That doesn't seem like "gag after gag" to me. Granted, some people enjoyed some of these, and there was also humor in the film that worked that people AREN'T *****ing about.

most WTF momments for me: Humping dogs, Wheelie humping Mikela's leg... and maybe other humping scenes i didnt catch....
can the DVD/BR come in a "Un-humping Edition" pl0X?

The entire movie made me go "WTF?!"
-Soundwave didn't transform, do anything or have the right voice
-The Twins were the most ******ed, racist thing ever
-Wheelie was pointless and unfunny
-The human transformer chick served no purpose
-Devastator didn't actually fight anyone except one of the twins and somehow the twin survived and ripped his head apart.
-Devastator's balls? really?
-Jetfire has a big metal beard and cane?
-Everyone can teleport now? Why transform to travel now?
-None of the Transformers save for Optimus got any real lines
-There was zero character development for the bots
-They introduced a bunch of new bots and managed to make them all extras
-The entire end of the movie is the same as the first. Sam has to dodge Decepticon fire and capture an ancient TF artifact (Cube, Matrix) then dodge more Decepticon fire while the military and Autobots give him cover to shove the artifact into Optimus.
-Why are Primes the only one that can defeat The Fallen?
-Was the Fallen any more difficult to beat than Megatron?
-Megan Fox did what exactly?
-Why the hell were Sam's parents in the desert battle at the end?
-Why was that whiny hispanic guy in the movie?
-Why did John Tuturro yell at a guy with jacked up teeth in his deli?
-Sam goes to Transformer heaven? WTF
-Etc, etc....

It was a really long sequence of gags. Bay seemed to have turned TF2 into a comedy with some fighting robots thrown in. TF1 was great because he seemed to take the bots themselves seriously. That appears to have been thrown out the window. The actors were fine, the writing was a joke, the action was over-the-top but still hard to follow. I couldn't have been more hyped up for a filmed and the more let down that I am with TF2. I thought Terminator 4 would've held that spot longer. I really do hope someone else takes over the franchise but with the massive success of this one I don't know that much will be changed either way.

- When Long Haul was part of Devastator's body and attacking Sam at the same time.
- When Sam's parents appeared at the desert.

http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/smg-transformers-10-questions.html

1. In "Transformers" there was this giant battle in the middle of downtown Los Angeles -- excuse me, Mission City -- that was witnessed by thousands of people at the very least. But somehow the government was able to cover up the whole thing, and now the existence of alien robots is just an internet rumor? How did they do it? Pay off everyone who was there and quickly fix millions of dollars in damage? Also, didn't Keller (Jon Voight) go on TV and tell everyone we were being attacked by "a technological civilization far superior to our own"? How did they spin that?

2. There are two pieces of the Allspark cube left: the military has one under lock and key, and Sam discovers another. The Decepticons steal one and bring Megatron back to life. But when Sam (Shia LaBeouf) wants to bring back Optimus, he has to find the Matrix of Leadership on the other side of the globe. Why not use the other piece? Mikaela (Megan Fox) has it in her backpack the whole time. It brought his kitchen appliances to life, why can't it do the same for Optimus?

5. Apparently, Transformers can look like people now. How? And how is it that even though the robo-girl (Isabel Lucas) is made of metal, she can still straddle Sam without crushing him. And if Bumblebee knows something's wrong with her, why does he spit antifreeze at her instead of telling Sam? Yes, his voicebox is broken, but wasn't it fixed at the end of the last movie?

The Fallen getting his ass kicked to the second power was a real WTF moment for me.

I was really hoping he'd just **** up everyone.

John Tuturro's ass shot was completely unnecessary and disgusting. Devastator having balls was a huge face palm of stupid.

leo got owned by the tazer after annoying everyone in the car with the whining...and being perfectly fine, getting out of the car by himself in fact. idk.

I'll answer a couple of questions:

Jetfire didn't have teleporting powers. He used the spacebridge. He even said it.

Sam's parents were in the desert because the Decepticons abducted them when they were in Paris.

I can answer another. I don't think that was Transformer heaven. I think it was merely the matrix doing all of that. If it was heaven, Jazz would be up there with the Primes. It was just the matrix choosing Sam as worthy to use the matrix.

Also, the bot's spark is seen as the life force of them and they each have a distinct personality, voice, emotions, morals, etc... So, if there can possibly be a human heave, why not a robot heaven?

My comment meant that responses as a whole, most of the fans i've experienced (not just in this thread) have found this movie to be a running gag real. Either by multiple 'gag' moments, or by useless 'gag' characters.

This sentiment has been expressed multiple times around these boards and others. And considering I've seen you post in other threads I know you've seen them.

At either rate, while not totally gag after gag, that is quite a few gags, and as you pointed out not all have been mentioned. In my mind, whether they work or not, there is a point where a movie has too many gags to maintain a certain level of seriousness. The Earth and all human existence was in serious peril, and we get-doggy-leg-hump... not once, but twice.

Problem is, most people admit the gags worked, except for the stuff above, which is what gets mentioned everywhere when people ***** about the movie.

What, people are unable to focus on the Earth being in peril at the end of the movie because there were 5-10 seconds of dog humping in the beginning of the movie? That strikes me as a personal problem.

About this robot heaven thing...
I thought that was inside Sam's mind, as an effect of the Matrix, kinda like how the Allspark piece also affected his head. That's how I interpreted that.

None of the gags worked, it was awful humor and the movie suffered greatly because of it.

just one
