Mortal Kombat: Legacy - Part 2

i'm guessing the actual film's cast will be different than the Legacy web series, especially if the movie universe is to be separate from the show. at least, that's what director Kevin Tancharoen had said in various interviews.

if that's the case, then i would love to see Wesley Snipes as Jax. the guy is a badass and knows martial arts :word:

It'd be a waste of a couple of fine actors, if the entire cast gets replaced. There are at least 3-4 actors that I absolutely want to see return.

Who should return?
Shang Tsung and Scorpion actors need to stay in their roles, I think

i just hope that for the movie we get better ninja costumes for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, etc.

didn't like how the costumes looked this past season

would love to see something like this onscreen

keep it nice, simple, and actually make it look like a ninja outfit and not a paintball armor suit

For me Scorpion was pretty much perfect. At most, they should tweak it to look even better. But I hope they won't make any major overhauls. And as for Sub-Zero, if they have to make him look modern, take some notes from Snake Eyes.

I thought Sub-Zero looked great in the first season. Something like that would be nice.
Is there a reason why all these different Ninjas look so similar in the games?

When they had one actor digitized for all the ninja shots they wore the exact same uniform, with alternate colors
Once they moved to animation with MK4 each ninja had his own distinctive design

I see, I guess that's why Scorpion and Sub-Zero looks like twins in the movie cuz they were based on the early games then.

Yeah, back then all Ninjas were just palette swaps of the same character. Nowadays they look all pretty distinct. Some don't even look like Ninjas anymore. Like Ermac for example. Which I totally don't mind.

Wouldn't make sense for him to specifically be a Ninja, since he's just a being comprised of thousands of souls.

Man, their budget for Season 2 was actually smaller than Season 1.

I'm flattered that everyone thought we had a bigger budget this season...but we actually had a little less.

I don't know why they didn't go with the mummy look for Ermac. He was basically a mummy without the wrapping anyway, which looked stupid and nothing like the character.

He was so generic.

This is how you do a Scorpion fight and Fatality!!! Friggen aweosme.

Holy crap is that cool ..... I actually like that better than anything I've seen out of the web series. They need to bring that guy on board to the creative team for the movie.

Noob looks awesome!

Yeah, I agree. The fights need that relentless energy and quick use of powers. All of Noobs moves looked awesome!

They should bring him on. Mike Diva's a talented dude, I'm sure even with a small budget he would come up with some insane stuff that's very fitting to the energy and fights of the game while still looking cool and stylized.

You said it right there .... "very fitting to the energy and fights of the game".

I'm definitely not getting that feeling from watching KT's work so far with the webseries.

Minus the silliness, that was way more exciting than the Sub-Zero Vs Scorpion match this Season. They just honestly dropped the ball on that one.

Another fun Fan Movie. :funny:

Just watched Mortal Kombat: Legacy II - Episode 6 that was a disappointment Mileena was the Wrong opponent for Johnny His opponent had to be a man so Johnny can performs the Split Punch aka the Nut Breaker Split :jedi

What a coincidence, just saw this episode back to back with episode 3 from season 1, to see both phantoms talk to Johnny Cage
The first actor made the split punch in season 1
And I really like the sai in the foot moment

Gentleman Shang Tsung politely declining the coffee in the coffee. Such a classy manner from Shang Tsung :D

Two interviews about MK with KTanch:

Interview one: http://spinoff.comicbookresources.c...reator-talk-realism-vision-and-power-rangers/

This one is interesting because it seems implied that Kabal, Smoke, and Goro are making the cut for the film...which I dont really have a problem with.

Interview two: http://www.geekosystem.com/kevin-tancharoen-intervie/

A necessary read due to clarification on the "gritty realism" stuff and it not being attached to MK Legacy...Specifically this statement here:

Is the movie just going to be a continuation of where the story is going to end this season, or is it going to be a stand alone thing?

No, it’s going to be a stand alone thing for multiple reasons. We consciously decided to do that because we want Legacy to keep going on its own, and a lot of the people who are going to see the movie, I’m not expecting them to watch 20 episodes of Mortal Kombat Legacy to enjoy the film. It doesn’t feel like that’s the right way to go.

In working with the video game creators we want to take the mythology that exists and add multiple new layers. That’s the intention of the movie.

So characters that die this season could potentially still be in the movie?

Correct.

Since it’s going to exist in its own separate universe is it going to be similar in tone to Legacy?

Yeah. My instincts are to go grounded and gritty and tonally dark, and Mortal Kombat really lends itself to that. So tonally they’ll be pretty similar if not more grounded. There will still be all the special powers and mythology and mysticism, but tonally I like to push things into the grounded and dark realm.

That was a really nice touch I thought. No reason you can't be a gentleman, just because you are evil.
