eh.. ya but its better then parker intintionally doing it imo

i havent read black blue and read all over.. whats it about? whats the cover look like?

Okay, here's a link to the cover:
http://www.marvel.com/comics/onsale...mics/onsale/covers/0906/SPIDERMAN_Special.jpg

The story takes place after the events in Marvel Knights: Spider-Man, and involves Peter having nightmares about being overwhelmed by his foes. Aunt May tells him that he should tell everyone who he is. He makes a deal with JJJ to reveal his identity in exchange for an exclusive interview which Spider-Man will write, and which will NOT be editted in any way.

The ending is truly beautiful, and it's really how the unmasking should've taken place, IMHO. The artwork's decent as well.

I'll be on the lookout for it. Don't know how I missed that one.

Not having any powers, unless there was a way to prove that they knew where he was, what could they be charged with?

Yup, there is no real reason or weight behind the argument that MJ & May would have been hauled in if PP had decided to join the resistance and keep his ID a secret. With May & MJ obviously in keeping w/ his wishes that they kept quiet.

So I guess you side w/ me now about MJ & May not being busted if they had just moved outta Avengers mansion and protected Peter's ID huh Spideyboy1111?

no. i still think they'd be busted.. because shield is being a big deuche... and there treating the registered hero's as bounty hunters... and since they mind raped spidey.. i'd guarantee you MJ and May would be hunted down

If they did anything to May & MJ-which would be illegal-it would only be in an effort to flush Spidey out.

exactly... plus.. like shield hasn't been going just a tad too far lately? i wouldnt even put it past them to use for with the interogating.. hell isn't mind raping alone illegal?

exactly... so either way they could abuse there "privilages" and use may and MJ to get to peter... no matter what the means

This is why it bothers me that more heroes aren't fighting the Registration Act. Again, superheroes are supposed to do what's right, not just roll over & do what they're told.

it's because of the whole country issue.. hell nearly everyone was for war after 9/11 but when people woke up and realised that "there were no weapons of mass destruction" the tune quickly changed... right now the same goes for the marvel universe.. the public is hating superheroes right now.. and the superheroes who are pro reg are pro safety.. and they feel that registering is the way to do that... (the new warriors actions were what cap and ironman ironically were both fearing with the young avengers)

Interesting reference; Dick Grayson started out as a lame, knucklehead teen sidekick & they turned him into a cool, badass, adult solo hero.
Peter Parker started out as a cool, badass, teen solo hero & they turned him into a lame, knucklehead adult sidekick.

EXACTLY!
I AM SO GLAD FOR THIS THREAD CAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE HATING THIS STUFF.
THEY ARE DESTROYING MARVEL'S PREMIER #1 SUPERHERO.:cmad:

Because I want everybody to choose ONE. I know some of us are pissed at all of these changes, but there's always gonna be one that stands out among the rest, one that bugs you more than all the others, one that makes you say, "I could forgive everything else if not for this." Hence "MOST annoying recent change", not "Which recent change annoyed you".
That's why no "All of the above".

In that case I choose ,...well I STILL couldn't choose just one.
The ones that ABSOLUTELY yet EQUALLY drive me NUTS are

1)the total rape of Gwen Stacy's character by making her a #$$@ ****
2)The fact that Spider-man is getting his ass wooped by the likes of Wolverine and Cap (who have human level powers)
3) the fact that SM has now become the noob of the MU. man in one issue of the Avengers dissasembled Falcon says to him "why are you even here". I love Falcon and always have but please........

Don't get me wrong,..the other stuff is killing me too, but these three take the cake with me.

Behavior on a lot of fronts.

Whatever happened to the Peter who fought Ock during that Master Planner story? Who at the verge of giving up forced himself back to his feet, lifting that metal debris off his back, draining nearly every last bit of power from his body and still managed to kick the ass of Ock's goons?

Whatever happened to the Peter who crashed the Human Torch's party just for **** and giggles and then proceeded to provoke him and the entire Fantastic Four into a fight? He knew he didn't fit in with the rest of the superhero community and was just fine with that.

Whatever happened to the Peter that learned the responsibility that comes with being Spider-Man and more importantly, just a man, when his uncle Ben and Gwen were taken from him.

Whatever happened to the Peter who could beat the odds time and time again, not just with his fists but his mind.

Whatever happened to the Peter who never dared take the chance to reveal his secret identity to anyone? Not even his own Aunt May and Mary Jane, because he felt it was that important.

I wish I knew. These days most writers just make Peter into a bubbly goofball, an inexperienced moron, a dolt, that's more likely to make an ass out of himself than be of any use to anyone.

Because the Peter I remember would never cow tow to anyone if he didn't feel right about it.

And just for the record, Aunt May telling Peter to take the risk was idiotic considering Norman BURIED HER ALIVE!

OH my friend you bring tears to my eyes. ALL of you do. I thought I was the only Spider-man fan left in the world. I didn't know that others felt this way too.
you are DEAD ON!

I would only add whatever happened to the SM who kicked ass? who faced the likes of THE FF, Avengers, Hulk, Namor, Sunfire, Iron Man, Juggernaut, who slapped wolverine around and called him a "joke", and so on.////

and they STILL over react... its always gone back to formula.. fanboys just arn't ever happy to be honest.. they get mad that "dead never means dead" and that no change is perminant... but when a change does happen they complain about it... or when someone does die.. they complain about it.. when a character doesnt change at all the comic industry goes into bankrupcy cuz no one buys it... when they do change things they sell well.. but the fans complain...

you are really starting to annoy me.:cmad:

He (JMS) got PP's character wrong.
SM never previously idolized any other hero, he respected em sure, but he did not idolize anyone.
Go read SM comics from 20 years ago, he was a wise-cracking self assured bad ass taking on Super-Villains far more powerful than himself.
Now he is a ***** who is in love w/ Tony Stark and can't even beat Captain America in a fight.

Everything about 616 SM these days is wrong, especially his characterisation by JMS.

EXACTLY! I wish some people who learn about the stuff they choose to talk about.

in fact not only did he not idolize his contemporary but one characteristic that has been ignored since the days of Stan Lee is that PP is a quick tempered guy who would get ticked of quiet easily, and kick some @#$. Read his first encounter with the Avengers to get a clue as to his true nature. get a clue people.

well I was reading the thread and posted what I felt when I got to a certain point. You annoyed me, that is true regardless of how the conversation evolved later.
But then based on what you've said so far I wouldn't' expect you to notice that I didn't answer your comments or address your posts specifically because I WAS reading the whole thread before doing so.
IOW I didn't post too quickly.
however, At this point I'm giving up and stopping, around page 10 or so.
I don't feel your comments are worthy of a response from what I've read so far.
basically I've come to realize that some people accept whatever's thrown at them as long as it comes from a place of authority.
some people are like (well like the New PP), basically incapable of thinking for themselves.
I'm trying very hard not to get into debates with people like that is it is clearly a waste of time.
You don't get it, plain and simple.

you know.. one miniseries of peter trusting someone .. and find out he's corrupt... doesnt mean he can't think for himself... sounds like your kinda quick to judge

just so you know, my opinion that new Peter doesn't thing for himself isn't soley based on his relationship with Iron man.

One of the points you are fundamentaly missing is that it's not just ONE thing that makes us feel the way we do. it's EVERYTHING.

ya but theres been no other personality change of peter parker.. the rest is whats happening to him from power to supporting cast..

So perhaps the MOST annoying change of all is Bendis's replacement of the real Spider-Man with Ultimate Spider-Man.

ya.... i hate ultimate with a passion... plus its gotten really bad ever since gwen's death

Oooo that's a good one.

Can I replace my previous vote with that?
