Natasha's trick of 'severing the nerve' to overcome Dreykov's pheromone lock, which probably destroyed her sense of smell, harkens back to something from the comics with Hawkeye: in his mini-series, to counteract the evil Crossfire's mind-control device, Clint had to bite down on a sonic arrowhead, which allowed him to regain control of himself but also blew out his eardrums so he had to wear hearing aids going forward.

Apparently Clint's hearing loss will be a thing in his upcoming Disney+ show.

In the years leading up to Ocean's 11 the talk of Tobey Maguire's issues with gambling were becoming well known.

Sam Raimi and James Gunn have similar styles mixing comedy and action (and more horror for Raimi IMO, but then 'Slither' is basically Gunn's take on 'Evil Dead'). They also both have little brothers that always play bit-players in their movies, and they each have a square-jawed leading man (Campbell for Raimi, Fillion for Gunn) who they work with all the time.

In The Terminator from 1984 Sarah unintentionally gives away the address to her exact location to the Terminator not once but twice in the movie. First when she calls her apartment to tell her roommate where she is leaving an answering machine message the Terminator hears and second when she calls her mother and instead is talking to Arnold who has disguised his voice after finding Sarah's mom and killing her.

Can we all agree that these were both just two really strange guys with Jupiter sized egos regardless if you believe or don't believe in the worst claims made against them? Like... Brilliant or not these were borderline crazy cats.
