The Amazing Spider-Man Moviehole scoops details on both scripts...

I don't think so. What comic book movies have come out since it's release back in 2008 that have been affected by it?
Both WOlverine and Watchmen were in the process of being made when TDK came out, so none so far.

Right.

So why did you say it's affecting other comic book movies then?
Look at what Sony is doing with Spidey. "More of in the style of TDK."

Btw, Watchmen and Wolverine wouldn't have been affected anyway. They were filming at the time, not just being made (correcting myself). Heck, I think WOlverine was finished besides the visuall effects and such.

superman reboot was gonna be dark before it was scrapped so it kinda did have the effect. Where studios think you need to be dark to be good not all of them but some.

And who is? I'm not.

I'm just saying I'd rather the possibility at a good film. With SM4 there was no possibility.

And why does"more in the style of TDK" necessarily mean a negative thing? Because it might y'know, actually be good? It might not have stupid dance numbers and cheesy melodrama?

It doesn't mean they will change the Spidey CHARACTER. It means the film will be more serious and adult. And that is a good thing.

let's be honest here, its not a stretch to say the need for faster and faster reboots is a least 'partially' brought on by the success of the batman reboot.
I'm talking superhero movies not mainstream as star trek was long over due a reboot and the bond franchise anted to get rid of the memory of the overly camp tomorrow never dies.

not everyone wants a reboot though look at indiana jones, they could have rebooted that and set it in WW2 again but they chose to move forwards.

is SSM dark and gritty? that is about as good as spidey gets.

That could mean a million different things. TDK had many styles. It could mean a more serious story like Death of Gwen or Captain Stacy, Kraven's Last Hunt etc (Most of Spidey's hallmark stories are dark and hardcore), more intense villains (Ledger's Joker is the most scary and intense comic book villain put on screen IMO) etc.

People instantly assume the worst and think they mean a brooding Spidey in a dark gothic New York. That's absurd.

Exactly. That's why your claim that TDK is having some kind of effect of comic book movies made no sense.

he is just annoyed at people jumping on the reboot bandwagon when something does'nt go there way just like that and i dont blame him.

Also Sony is not rebooting the franchise because they need to fix there wrong on the spidey films. They are rebooting it cause it is there cash cow and they dont want to loose it to marvel.

whch is the worse reason to do a reboot

seeing how they greenlit sm4 to go ahead and happen

This makes no sense.

They are rebooting it because they want to keep their cash cow?

Guess what? Making SM4 would do exactly the same thing.

They are rebooting it because SM4 was doomed to fail, they knew this.

Yea... and the new Indy film was the worst of he bunch. Your point?

would you have prefered to watch a new young indy set in WW2 or a old harrison ford set (in the 50's). indy5 sucked but it was nice seeing harrison pick up the bullwhip and fadora one last time.

I loved seeing Ford back. I hated seeing him back in a **** movie.

It's not really all that absurd. Sony and any other studio would do anything for money.

NO

raimi and company left meaning they had no franchise/Star/director

Rebooting it means a sure fresh start and 3 more films so marvel cant touch it

same reason fox is making all these x men films

you think fox is making deadpool and first class because people were asking for it

Alot of fans feel that way about Batman in BTAS. But that doesn't stop the Nolan Batman movies from being awesome, and stepping over boundries that cartoons can't.

Saturday morning cartoon shows have limits.

And how is changing an already proven money making character into something completely different gonna make them money?

Your logic is absurd. You're just pissed off coz Raimi's gone.

yeah but Black Cat has bigger boobies

lol jk

No, no. That's a fair point! :D
