The Amazing Spider-Man Moviehole scoops details on both scripts...

Well yea, in the comics them having a baby was part of the Clone ****storm... oops I mean Saga.

No it doesn't make me smart. But Spideys best ever stories feature him in high school. Spideys widely claimed best EVER story is Death of Gwen Stacey. I'd like the possibility of that in film.

He was in college during that story. Not high school. Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacy were never in the high school Spider-Man comics. The girl at that time was Liz Allen. Not Gwen Stacy. Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn were introduced when Peter went to college.

I understand that. It is about growth.

But the majority of people were complaining about too much emphasis on relationship trials and tribulations and all that crap.

What do they do? Introduce a ****ing baby?
The majority of fans said they wanted Venom. That worked out well. The relationship trials and tribulations are what Peter Parker is about. He always had crappy luck with girls and when things did go his way and he scored a hottie, it always ended badly sooner or later.

Too many people watched SM3 and decided they hated Raimi and wanted him out. They heard all of these rumors of SM4 and automatically blamed Raimi. He made two of the best superhero films EVER and at that time they were the best. But, as soon as the studio ****s up his vision, people blame him and jump ship. Disgusting:o

I don't see how no one can see Sony and Raimi are both to blame for what was becoming of Spidey 4. And if Sony really just wanted ''their" Spider-Man 4, they would've went ahead with the script containing Vulture,Vulturess, and a possible 3rd villain.

But yet, everyone seems to glaze over the fact they prepared a second option because they TOO didn't like where Spidey 4 was going. So they can blindly follow Raimi around just because he's the genius director he is.
They can't go ahead without any of their talent. They all left when Raimi left. It was cheaper to reboot and that is why they did it. More people would be okay with a reboot than a complete recasting.

Read the bolded my friend.

Just click page 1 on this thread.

And for the other article search the Spidey forum. There is a whole thread dedicated to the plot outline that was released. There'll be links to articles there.

I wanna make this clear. I LOVE the first two Spidey films and I LOVE what Raimi did with them.

But with all the interference from the studio, Raimi coming up with some dumb ideas (IMO) SM4 was doomed.

And I'd personally rather hope the reboots would be good, rather than KNOW SM4 would not reach the heights of SM1 or 2 and be more like 3. Wouldn't you agree with that mentality?

I'm certainly not entirely blaming Raimi. But I just feel it was time for him to go. He wasn't gonna get his way, and he did come up with some dumb ideas. Raimi is NOT perfect.

Everything you thought was Raimi's idea and was stupid...most have been disproven. The only one that is correct is the baby subplot. So, to hate a movie before you see it because Peter has a kid.

None have been disproven. Go look for the plot outline that was released a few weeks ago. It CLEARLY states the Vulture as editor of Bugle and Black Cat as his daughter were Raimi's ideas. There is a whole thread about it if I remember correctly.

And it isn't JUST because of the baby. It's ALSO because the studio wasn't going to let Raimi do what he wanted.

Would you rather have another SM3 or no Spidey movie helmed by Raimi? I'd rather have the POSSIBILITY at some new, fresh movies that a new director MIGHT get his own way. Rather than another Spidey movie that we KNOW would be interfered with.

And Raimi isn't perfect. Was it the studios idea to make Sandman Uncle Bens killer? No, it was Raimi's, and it was stupid.

It didn't say those were Raimi's ideas, just that they were part of the story in the latest draft of the script. All we know is Raimi wanted Vulture, and Sony wanted Vultress as opposed to Black Cat. We don't know who came up with what idea, though I would definately imagine Vulture as head of the Bugle and the baby were Raimi ideas. Black Cat (or Vulturess) being Toomes daughter...not so sure that was his idea

Did you not see the link on the last page that someone posted where it says that the studio wanted Black Cat:huh::dry: Did you not see his post mocking you for your inability to read? He was talking about you. You have yet to show me evidence that Raimi had Toomes as head editor of the Bugle.

BS. They could have easily just did Spider-Man 4 with cheaper lesser known actors and a ''yes" man director, but instead they saw it was a disaster themselves and moved on with a better script.

Raimi wanted Vulture? And it turns out Vulture was editor of the Bugle? So it must of been Raimi's idea. And it's a stupid idea IMO.

No it's your inability to read. The studio wanted Black Cat as a "retooled" Vultress. Exact quote. Raimi wanted Black Cat, the studio wanted her "retooled" into Vultress.

Twisting words to your advantage again ay? :D

That one probably was his idea. I don't know how it would have worked out, cause I don't know how he planned to have it play out. Maybe the idea would have worked, I don't know. Giving Ock a wife sounded like a bad idea at the time, but it worked on film. As did the AI tentacles (for the purpose of his film).

However, that doesn't mean making Hardy his daughter was his idea.

They created the disaster that was the script. Sony could have realized that the script they created was a bastard and they were happy that Raimi left. And no, a complete recasting with a story line directly related to the previous film would not get as warm of a reputation as a reboot. People would wonder why none of the cast from SM1-3 is in SM4.

Exactly. Sony could of done a Fox and hired a merc like the Rat.

And they still might. We don't know, they have no director yet. We might get someone like Ratner or McG. We don't know.

Well whatevers man. Maybe making her his daughter wasn't Raimi's idea.

But the point of this is... SM4 was doomed, for a variety of reasons. It was NEVER going to reach the heights of the first two movies. So why bother?

It's better to start a fresh.

no raimi wanted vulture and thats it no one wanted black cat but sony

The studio didn't want Black Cat. They wanted "Black Cat retooled into Vultress" indicating that Black Cat was originally involved, but they wanted her as Vultress.

Man I haven't seen this much trolling since I logged onto WOW last... :rimshot:

This was posted on page 16 for you:

Seems the studio wanted Black Cat. I am not against Black Cat anyways. What is wrong with Black Cat? Some great stories of Spider-Man have Black Cat in them. Black Cat could have been introduced to Raimi to include and he decided to and then then Raimi wanted Vulture and so the studio wanted to change her to Vulturess. YOU DON'T KNOW.

To me, this is your opinion that you don't like Raimi. You grasping for straws to attack him with and decide you hated SM4 before seeing it proves that.

No one listens the THE BAT

this is from the article on the first page you keep referring to :

The latest screenplay was said to have featured the villain Raimi wanted, The Vulture, but at the request of the studio, the writers (about five were on the project at different times) also added The Vulturess, a new character that Anne Hathaway was loosely in talks for at one stage (she dropped out of the race late last year). There was also talk of a third villain.

Basically, it was Peter Parker, in between changing his little one’s diapers, fighting the new editor of the Daily Bugle, who's The Vulture, and Black Cat. They’ve rewritten it since then (Black Cat is now Vulturess), but I believe the gist of the story remains. Or.. remained".

nowhere does it say it was Raimi's idea

Kind of like how a Deadpool movie connected to X-Men Origins: Wolverine will be total crap and it is best that they start a fresh.:cwink:

Indeed, if there's one strike against Sam, it was that Vulture and Black Cat was a ******ed team up. That being said, it's impossible to know what Sam's favoured choices were. Did he concur with the first script (which included Vulture and Black Cat)? Or did he vetoe it and that's where the rewrite involving Vulture and Black Cat came in? If it's the latter I'd love to know who Vanderbit's villlains were.
