Yes I agree it seems more fitting but it is to close to the suicide commited in X2. I think it will be more dramatic and tear jerking if the X-men was force to kill her themselves. All of them working together to do so. I brought up the cure because even though it is a dull way to end a movie. It is the most practicle and logical option. X1 - Small, coping with them X2 - Expanding powers, cannot control some X3 - Ultimate power and cannot control most of it. What is next for Jean if her character doesn't die? It is more fitting if her newly acquired powers consume her.
