Definitely, RIP to Sloan and Unseld.

Fortunately, looks like we're back though...LeBron better get his squad together, we need this title this year.

2, 4 and 5 please. They sound hilarious.
Get creative with expanding on those ideas. Have the higher seed team bring in their floor and also get to choose the individual baskets. 11 foot, warped rims for the underdog. Not only does the high seed get hotel preference, they get to pick where the lower seed stays. Maybe a nice hourly motel on the outskirts of town frequented by some of Orlando's finest courtesans.

Yes. And we have have the away team install the floor right before the game. Also while one of the players on the home team gets an extra foul, someone on the other team can only commit one foul before fouling out. Also the head coach on the away team must wear a random Disney walk around character suit.

Exciting to hear NBA will be back again soon.
Though it will be a little weird to watch without fans.

But regardless, exciting to see basketball games again.

have there been any updates on the players who had the virus? i haven't seen anything in a while

why you gotta break my heart like that Terry

Jabari Parker, Buddy Hield and Jokic test positive for Coronavirus

Selfishly, I'm kinda happy Avery Bradley has decided against playing. This essentially forces LeBron back to the 1, and hopefully for good. If JR has his head screwed on, it could be a decent addition.

That said, I'm still not convinced this won't crumble with a few more players (prominent players) getting popped for Covid. I want games back just as much as anyone, but I don't believe there's any guarantee against shutting it all back down again if guys keep testing positive, across all sports...

None of these guys has gotten to the point of actually being in a training camp bubble. they're all still coming and going as they please. as long as that's still the case, you're going to have a certain % who contract it. This was the case in Europe with the soccer players.

Once these guys get to the actual camp phase, it's easier to maintain, trace, and monitor. Then when they get to Orlando there will be a whole other level of precautions in place.

I think people like to doom and gloom this stuff, but it's been shown already that it can work.

No doom or gloom from me, Silver said the same thing himself today:

Silver: On track but virus spread may stop NBA

The bottomline is, none of these guys that have come forward admitting to having it, have been marquee players on championship contenders. If that starts happening, in any sport but particularly the NBA, what would be the point of continuing? There's enough asterisks waiting in the best case scenario as it is.

I'm one of the biggest conspiracy theorists alive, and this isn't directed at you Hulk at all, but I fail to see how so many people continue to act like this isn't a real problem. It's baffling really, especially considering lack of self awareness and due diligence is why this thing keeps spiking to begin with...

Jokic has it. He’s a marquee player.
So were Durant, Gobert and Mitchell

Deandre Jordan may not be marquee anymore, but he’s a key cog in the Nets system and Dinwiddie was playing some of his best basketball this year.

Actually, I think basketball is the least likely sport to work in the COVID world. The game is played inside, which already makes it a hospitable environment for transmission. Players are often in close-contact clusters where they're face-to-face, which raises the odds of an outbreak even further. There will be exposed skin, nails, and hair. As much as I want to have basketball back, there are just too many risky aspects for me to believe that the NBA can actually crown a champ this season. I hope that I'm wrong.

they're uniforms are the smallest and there's a lot of body contact. not to mention the constant cardio of going up and down the court, so heavy exhalation all around.
plus like you said, closed-in environment. body sweat, physical contact and all. it's very risky

and i am curious what the long-term effects of COVID would be on an athlete? doesn't it affect breathing a lot. could severely impact their stamina amongst other things

Well let me retort, (in my mind of course) the only true marquee/superstar players in the NBA are LeBron, Curry, Kawhi & KD, strictly in terms of on court play, marketability/sales and recognition across the world. TBH, I would even say Kawhi is still slightly behind those other 3. If KD were playing, I think it would've been much more of a story than it was.

I agree the nature of Basketball puts everyone at high risk, I trust the "bubble" will help alleviate any issues. But just like Dame said, I doubt every single player is going to follow protocol...

i agree with Dame too. "regular" people are not following rules for their areas, i highly doubt all these athletes will too.

Tom Thibodeau on the verge of finalizing a five year coaching contract with the Knicks.

Pelicans have looked good in their scrimmages. Zion is back in the bubble, and hopefully he'll be ready to go after he quarantines.

heard lou williams got busted for sneaking out of the bubble for chicken wings and is mad he got called out for it.
