NBC's ''The Blacklist'' - Part 1

Get the feeling Dembe isn't going to be around much longer,as much as Red cares for him he cares about his 'secret' more.

It feels like they were giving all the main cast a 'out' just in case they didn't resign for more seasons. Now that they have all signed up it seems a little redundant.

Do we trust that story?

The casting for Ilya was quite good. I thought that was young Red at first. So Ilya looks like Red and Katarina looks like Ana. If the ages only lines up, I would’ve suspended something.

Yeah I'm not buying that story. We have never heard of this Ilya person until season 6?

I mean are we meant to believe that someone so close to Katerina that his name wasn't mentioned once before. I mean time and time we always heard the Russians are looking for just Katerina and not they are looking for Katerina and Ilya or Katerina and and an associate.Fairly positive Dom just made him up to throw Liz off.

Im still 'team Red = Katerina' now more than ever

Did you watch the finale? What do you think now?

So the president assassination went nowhere. Was expecting something big.

Have a feeling that entire Paris thing is a fake out to throw off onlookers (tv viewers and Russian agents). No Dembe nearby to protect Red or react to what just happened? C'mon now.

So finally got caught up,and I just don't buy that person being the real Katerina. I rather enjoyed this season, glad they gave Agent Ressler more to do this season.

Also I'm curious to know what was Red injecting himself with earlier in the season.

I think this show has to end now. I love this series to bits and it's one of my favourite series of all time, but it's getting thin now...

I think it's been past its sell-by date since season three, tbh with you. I love Spader's acting, and Reddington has to be one of the best television characters of all time, but good God it's time to let the thing die already. I'd love to see Spader move onto new pastures and deliver us some more darkly intriguing characters. I'm talking stuff that's on the level of sex, lies and videotape or Secretary.

I don't know what I expected. But I certainly didn't think that it would remind me of an episode of The Mission Impossible series. I kind of dug it!

Enjoyed last week's 'Aram centric' episode, also it looks like he can handle himself quite well in the field. Frankie is also a nice addition to the series.

Well so much for Francesca.

Jeez, 8 seasons?

I've stopped watching the show a long time ago but I'm curious, do we know who is Liz(?) father now ?

During the lockdown I've managed to catch up on the Blacklist, because I loved the first 3 seasons but lost track of it after that.

Personally, I thought that when Keen killed the Attorney General and eventually went back to work like nothing happened....well there was a bit of shark jumping. What's interesting is how corrupt the government is - I feel like the whole notion of the task force ( which works with a criminal- and assists him in maintaining his empire - to catch criminals - a lesser of two evils taken to extremes - is the creators' critique on corruption and hypocrisy in the real world ( of course the US government worked with La Cosa Nostra during WW II, for its contacts in Sicily).

Anyway, generally it's still great, Spader is always a treat and the supporting cast are solid. I miss Tom, who was my favourite character - Katarina Rostova is turning out to be a great villain.

But, I am a little tired of the twists and turns of the true identity of Raymond Reddington/ Illya Koslov/ Somebody else. That's a mystery that's been a bit too drawn out for me - because there seems to be a endless chain of Macguffins that Red keeps trying to hide.

Otherwise I look forward to each episode. I dont think they should draw it out

The preview for the season finale looks interesting. Wonder if this was their way in dealing with on set production getting cut short due to COVID-19, or were they always planning on doing an episode like this?

I believe this is their way of dealing with the COVID-19 situation, as a while back someone from the set posted on twitter that they were unable to complete production of the series, so they just animated over those scenes.

Sort of reminds me of that animated episode of Fringe

I think they should probably wrap the show up now since it is past its prime.

Reddington's identity has been overly drawn-out. I would of been okay with him just being Liz father or that random Russian spy dude but it seems like the showrunners are scared the audience will abandon them if they stick with any of the choices they choose

they still haven't revealed his secret yet? man i'm so far behind i don't even know if i want to catch up if it's been drawn out this long

I loved Fringe, and that trippy animated episode was awesome.

Yeah, first he wasn't Liz's father, then he wasn't Reddington, then he wasn't Ilya Koslov. I've kind of lost interest in finding out who he is.

Also, I'm tired of Liz being so easily manipulated by everyone. She just swaps one puppet master for another.
Katarina Rostova had an aura of evil about her from day one, which was obvious to everyone but Liz.

That, and the show seems to forget its past. They're all "oh no Liz kidnapped the sick old Soviet spy" , she's gone too far this time.....ummm remember when she shot dead the Attorney general?
