Need of a Batman Next-Gen Game

Considering how big TDK is giong to be, I'm surprised to didn't try cash in on it with a movie tie in game. Esp considering it's WB the whole point of the previous movies to BB and TDK was to cash in.

Especially when you look at how much hype and promotion it's getting.

It's the complete opposite of Batman Begins "word of mouth" hype.

You'd figure some suit would make sure Batman got a game to go with it all.

Im just as confused as you guys. The only thing i can think of is that maybe Pandemic was already working on a Batman game before TDK really got going and they just didnt feel itd be ready for the movies release. Maybe theyll release it alongside the DVD. I really am at a loss here, just dont get it.

"Wanted" the game has just been announced with a release for later this year. This announcement (with no screens or footage) has come weeks after the movie. So maybe a TDK game isn't so farfetched.

Although, thinking about it...I wonder if they announced it and are moving full speed ahead with it because of the success of the film. I mean, if the movie had bombed...would they have scrapped it?

I don't know.

But, yeah...that one got announced quite a ways after the movie released. I don't even think it'll be ready for the DVD either.

Don't really care about the TDK, its way too late.

What I do want is for the WB gaming division to re-use the DCUO charcters renders for a Batman GTA style game, with the Bat family and Rogues gallery. Or a Justice League Heroes sequel. This would look so good on PS3/360.

Wow, thats some interesting stuff. So the game Pandemic is working IS a Dark Knight game after all??? Gah, i cant wait to get some confirmation on this.

If Pandemic is making it, I'm 99% sure it'll be running on the Mercs 2 engine, which means we can hopefully expect an at least somewhat open Gotham environment to explore, and decent visuals. I just hope that they're keeping it quiet because they don't want to release it until it's good and ready. Rushing is what kills almost every video game based on a movie.

Yea, im pretty much in agreement with this. If Pandemic is working on this title, give them their time. We know they are a capable studio, so lets let em work.
