Need solutions for my shaving problem

I'm a red head, and as a red head, I have problems shaving my beard. It seems like hairs go in different directions, and nothing I could do can fix it. I bought an electric shaver recently, and it mostly got all of them off, but there are bit on the bottom of my face, sides, around my mouth, my neck, that still remain. I tried shave gel, and the results were barely different.

The only thing that does work is, before the electric shaver it was soap, now we're just use the electric shaver, but after using that, I'll apply skin lotion to my face and use a regular razor to shave off what remains. I was hoping to find something to eliminate that, but I've had no luck.

It all comes down to me being a redhead, and having trouble shaving everything in one quick session, because I'm a redhead. And I thought maybe getting an electric razor would help, maybe it'll be better than an electric shaver, but before I do even think of getting that, I need some help, tips, whatever that could help me. Unless getting an electric razor is the solution. But you never know.

Last time I was at the barbershop a redheaded dude with a huge beard got a shave. He was shaved with a straight razor. No hair on his freckle face after that.

It's going to depend on what kind of skin you have. I find that electric razors irritate my skin and get no where near as close a shave as a blade. Getting your face as wet as possible makes it much easier to cut, which is why so many gels advertise hydration. It's also why a lot of guys shave in the shower(if you do this, I'd recommend a shower mirror, and use some Rain-X to keep off fog). If you don't mind taking extra time, using a saftey razor can get a great close shave.

Those take some practice but get you close shaves. I'm personally fine with my Mach3 and shave gel for sensitive skin.

I have that...well, the Topcare version of it. But wanted a better tool that does it no problem.

The Oneblade is a really good electric razor. You can shave with or without shaving cream, and use it dry or wet. It's not as close a shave as a manual though. But it's better for sensitive skin.

You need something like this. I'm not a redhead, but I have senstive skin and issues with my beard going different directions as well. Electric razors were a mess for me. I swear by my Merkur safety razor. The single blade safety razor is a lot better for control than a Mach 3 or similar such things. The German steel blades last really well and are really sharp. Get a proper badger hair brush and shaving soap and you are all set for the best shave you can get short of a straight razor.

Another big point is one' technique with a razor. Always shave with the grain and not against it (recipe for razor burn or cuts). Do it in short light strokes. Always shave with the direction of the hairs. A traditional shaving soap is great for this because you can apply it light and can see the hair direction better.

I'm not a red head, but I shave electrically with a cheap ass Braun shaver and I have a similar problem. Most of the hair is gone completely but for some reason the parts where my jawline meets my neck (to the side of my chin) is impossible to completely shave. I can go over it a hundred times and there will still be hair.

The solution to my problem was to just use an actual razor for those sections. I can't imagine hair sticking around after that.

Couldn't get your link to work - kept timing out. Is your electric shaver one with a foil or one with rotary heads? I'm not a redhead but the beard on my neck does grow in various directions. I usually wet-shave but if I need to shave in a hurry I find a rotary-headed electric shaver gives good results.

Bought a safety razor. Will try it soon. Afraid of slicing my face though. Anything I should know before using it for the first time, or is it just just a regular razor?

Not really. Given the prices they can charge, there's no way.
