's demise was telegraphed, and it simply didn't resonate — with me, anyway. It reminded me too much of the end of Armageddon (another movie I have an enduring dislike for).

Yep. I'm a huge MCU fan, but Yondu's death was the first scene to actually bring me to tears.

Agreed.

I wasn't crying or emotional with either of them, but Yondu's death/sacrifice was for sure handled a lot better than Superman's. I think largely because he was built up a lot better within GotG2 as a likable character for the audience which I don't think Superman was.

I was actually more disappointed Superman was killed because of how it was handled, that Death of Superman storyline & Doomsday character are so iconic, it really deserved it's own movie than to be shoehorned into a Batman vs Superman conflict. Would have been nicer if they'd defeated Doomsday as a trio, all of them survive & then in a future MoS sequel or Justice League movie Doomsday returns, more powerful, more traditional & does kill Superman once all the characters are established.

Reading the BirthMovieDeath review, essentially an easy on what 'they finally got right'. I'd also say this thread is about done.

To think, this is the best comic book movie ever made(looking at that current all important score), or the one that finally got it the most right, rather right for the most critics. Also seems cut and dry.

That's pretty much what this whole "teh critics hate Snyder/DC/WB/dark films" amounts to.

Oh there are plenty, I just found that one, most eloquent and to the point to be honest. More honest, it's cause it' from the site the crew would cite on this dc stuff incessantly. Nah, it won't take all that many paragraphs, in fact I'll just cite the fine print for you.(who'd have thought I'd ever be using this particular site to make a point on dc movies, strange times.)

You're right, there is no hatred for 'dark/somber' anything. These people loved fight club, and they loved Logan earlier this year, they love all sorts of dark sad ****. DC finally 'gets it right' when unabashedly stops doing just that? We call that inconsistent, we call that a form of bias. I mean come on flint. Another dark cynical dc installment and u think we're flirting with a high 90? Let's stop this. It's a factor! One you would deny exists somehow. To answer ur thing there, yes they do count, that they count is the crux of the argument. Everytime Logan get's brought up it only strengthens this disparity, actually calling dark a flaw...meh that's it.

I do, but then i see other people do the same thing(the other way). I ask myself if they have the energy to do it, why should I be any worse.
And so there is no confusion, I never agreed there was a bias against DC, that's stupid, they love DC(and marvel). I argued there was a bias against what dc was doing and more to the point what they were doing with DC characters. They have announced and changed what they are doing and presto, a billion percent. Who knew.

Suicide Squad was colorful and fun (or at least it tried to be... in some version of the movie) but it got the worst reviews of any of these movies.
