I just done done watching this and I think it still holds up and can't wait for the sequel.

Then out of pure boredom I go to IMDB and look at the threads and i kinda wish I hadn't. Those have got to be some of the most dumbest people in the world.

They're complaining about what makes a F13 movie a F13 movie.

I wouldn't take anything on IMDB's boards seriously, the internet equivalent of a sewer.

It's funny...I was a huge Freddy vs Jason fan, but I saw it again the other day and actually find myself preferring F132009 to FVJ; especially in terms of Jason's character. Jason is more than just a bumbling juggernaut in F132009 and I love it. I think it might be one of my favourite depictions of Jason yet and the more I think about it and the more I see it, the more the remake is one of my faves in the franchise.

FVJ is fun and all that, but F132009 is just so great because it takes the franchise a little more seriously while still having enough fun to keep the F13 feel.

I don't really think you can compare the two. Since the one is a more serious tone, while the one is more manily comic and are part of two different era's.

But I know alot are still pissed about Jason running, with them going Jason doesn't run! Jason was better with supernatural powers. And all that other BS added after previous installments.

I understand that they're different tones, but I guess what I'm saying is that I'm glad they went with a more "serious" tone rather than keeping up the slapstick stuff.

Yeah, well, all of Platinum Dunes movies are serious tone. Just like the upcoming Nightmare on Elm Street remake. They said its less jokey and getting back to being more serious and scarier.

I prefer F1309 to FvJ. Much better acting, it doesn't have the terrible CGI, Jason is perfet and atleast a few of the human characters were good...

FvJ is more of a violent action/comedy than a horror film, still entertaining as hell though.

I don't think FVJ is something that is suppose to be taken serious. With all the comedic stuff in it mixed together.

Jason in this one is more of a Hunter/Thinker.

he wil **** you up!
for the fan fic i wrote, hes got the zombie abilities, but he still runs when he wants to

Dead people cant run. It would be impossible.(aside from the obvious) Hence why Zombies walk. Unless their freashly dead.

Anyhoo, Friday09 wasnt serious at all I thought. I really liked that. It was fun. It didnt try to be anything other then a Friday film.

Unlike another film that recently came out.

I loved the most recent depiction of Jason. I always prefered the Jason from Pts.2 - 4. over the zombie Jason from later sequels, and that's what this latest version went offered. I find the hillbilly, backwoods killer more interesting and scary than the supernatural, stalking zombie.

The original Nightmare On Elm Street wasn't jokey at all. They didn't turn Freddy into a homicidal comedian until Part 3. I hope the remake actually does get back to being scary. I have a feeling they're just going to triple the bodycount and make the deaths more violent then say "There! Now it's scarier!"

From the leaked script I read there wasn't that many killings in it. i think maybe 4.

Same here. I would've liked the movie better if it had been scarier. The only thing I liked about it was that Jason went back to being a fast moving psychotic backwoods hillbilly like in parts 2-4 of the original series. I'm just waiting for a writer/director who doesn't equate bigger bodycounts and more violent deaths with being scary. With slasher films, less is more. Have five or six victims, make two or three really graphic deaths, the rest can be just implied, and most of the rest of the movie should be used to build suspense. They did that in the first few Friday The 13ths, and the first couple of Halloween and Nightmare movies. Then the studios decided to change the formula (less suspense, bigger and more violent bodycount). When Rob Zombie and the producers of the F13 & TCM reboots decided to reboot these series they made all the same mistakes of the franchises sequels, and did none of the things the originals did right. That's why I say the remakes of Halloween, Friday The 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hitcher, all suck.

my favorite death is the black uys, iforgothis name

True, but, IMo, I think Jason running created an effect that worked really well, if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, I love the walking, but i do think the running isn't bad either.
With Jason running, that means your gonna be in for some trouble, compared to a guy lumbering around like frankenstein.

I mean if you see a big MF'er like Jason running at you. You'll bound to crap your sef. If you see the old Jason. You're like we better leave now, before this guy eventually gets us.
Yeah, and like I said, realistically, that's true. Tbh, I do love walking and running Jason. If I remember correctly, he semi-ran in part 3. He also ran in part 2, but that was when he had the patato sack.
