New Layout Feedback

My husband is switching us over to Linux Mint the next time we upgrade. He's sick of Windows. :(
There's also Zorin OS which was created solely for Windows users in mind.

I've done all that, rebooted. The site is still crazy slow and taking forever to load images.

This was for the poll option showing up. The site lag is something else.

I haven't been around that much but I'm realizing that like, everything is messed up. I thought upgrades were supposed to make things better, but I couldn't even put your & @Lily Adler's quotes in one post. and yes, every single thing is slow

Yeah.....I've noticed some delays at times. Sometimes everything seems normal, but sometimes it seems to hang.

Upgrades can be tricky. I used to have to install IOS updates for routers and switches (Cisco mainly) and, the way I look at it, there are 2 kinds of upgrades. First, there are upgrades that are basically fixes (patches) for an existing IOS. Those usually go pretty smooth and don't cause too much trouble because they have been around for awhile and are usually address specific security issues and maybe some add ons. Then you have upgrades that are an entirely new train. The early ones of these can cause unexpected issues because they haven't been as thoroughly tested outside of a lab environment.

From looking at the version, my guess is that this upgrade was of the first type, but am not familiar with Xenforo so maybe this version has some major updates that still need to be worked out rather than minor security patches.

That's a long way of saying I have no idea what the hell is going on and you probably just wasted about 3 minutes of your time reading my post....... :funny:

nah man it wasn't a waste, it was relatable! software updates happen either for stabilization/system performance, or to improve features and the overall optics/design. the site was running fine from what I could tell before the latest upgrade, so I'm guessing this update was to change the look.

which they did a little bit but nothing beats the old days where we had actual options on how the forum looked. that would be an awesome upgrade. I'll forever miss the Vote busty skin and would love a tribute that look.

Anyone else having trouble posting because of some security error?

@Lily Adler I think polls are working now!

Hype is running a lot faster now too. Wish it was like this all the time.

It's very inconsistent. One minute, it's running fast like it's supposed to. And then a few minutes later, it's right back to the (supermassive) lag.

Same for me. In and out. I did getbmy new Galaxy A9 tablet up and running and in spite if the lag the site is now running noticably better, especially the Blusky inbeds. :)

nice! glad that your new Galaxy A9 is helping out, but I think overall situation is same for everyone. is the upgrade in some sort of beta status right now or something? or is this lag what we're gonna have to deal with from here on out?

No clue, but it sure stinks. :( It seriously needs to be fixed.

I will say I am having a lot of issues with page loading times and having to refresh. Also, there's usually a light/dark toggle button. Was this hidden/removed?

We've had several major updates since youve been here and things may have gotten removed or relocated.
