I thnk they should all start out Red...then later on have like April give them colored ones so she can tell them apart except raph says he wants to keep his and not be like his brothers

Yeah he plays a recruit. Small role but he also did stunt work for the film.

Also do you guys prefer the red bandanas or different colors. I actually prefer different color bandanas unless they do a good job at making them look different.

Different colors. Even the IDW comics introduced them 4 issues in. It's too iconic now.

Yeah, that would definitely play into Raphael's rebellious attitude. I like the idea of them using red at first, as a nice nod to how the Turtles began, but for the sake of the franchise, it's best to introduce the multiple colors. I know it's not as "epic", but it makes things much easier to understand. I can't fathom having to watch a Ninja Turtles movie where I have to guess who is involved in which scenes. They would have to do a really good job with the characters to pull that off.

The multi-colored way has become iconic for TMNT.

Only way red works as a constant is if they physically look so different from each other you can tell.

Yeah , I don't want to be looking to see what weapon they have every time. I won't mind if they switch because of April or something like that though. Also I agree it's iconic and how I most remember them.

These designs make them easier to identify without the colored bandanas

I love those designs but they're too much of a departure to use, most likely.

Multi colored masks is the way to go.

It didn't matter in the comics that they all wore red masks because the books were black and white to begin with (only the covers were in color). You could only tell them apart, from their weapons.

The multi-colored masks came from Peter Laird. The producers of the original cartoon asked Eastman/Laird of way that would differentiate the Turtles, better visually for kids, and Laird came up with the multi-colored masks.

Just takes these and update them.

Maybe give them different martial arts gear, so they look even more like individuals and we're good to go.

The only thing I dig from those pics that I would accept on the Turtles are the scales. (#434)

I love the idea of them all starting off with red during their training and then eventually choose different colors except for Ralph of course.

best idea is a slight color variation

What's up the these nightmare drawings of the turtles? I don't think they want to scare kids and some adults with the design.

I've always liked those designs. Though, I think it would be interesting if they decided to add more clothing with the masks. Maybe not as big a change as this art, but something. I don't know what.

that's what I like about the second picture I posted. it's more kid friendly but still serious

Probably my favorite choice as far as a new look for the turtles

Especially raph

I guess because it wasn't supposed to be like Power Rangers. The Turtles at first all wore red bandanas. Only later the colored ones were added, to make them stand out better. And since she's a girl, she stands out good enough. I guess they went with a color that simply fit the design best, instead of giving her a completely different one, just because she's the 5th Turtle.

Really? Because that series totally did a crossover with the Power Rangers of the time....

I actually really like this one. It manages to give a beak whjle maintaining a faithfulness to the classic look. Not sure I'd spend so much time on scales just for the sake of realism... it ends up looking more than a bit creepy.

I think the above is probably the design closest to what they may go for.

Yeah I would like to see something like that, only with pupils.
