New Mutants New Mutants News and Discussion - Part 2

Noice, users that wanna talk about the movie talking about other users.
Now the thread is whole again.

now that I think about.. 4/24 for trailer date doesn't make sense. If they want to attach to endgame, the trailer must come a week before something like that, not 1 day before.. that's not how theater trailer works.
and disney "sure" won't push this with endgame when they have lots of their own big movie coming. especially lion king.

Aladdin, the Lion King, Artimus Fowl, Toy Story 4 would be the last four trailers shown in theaters before it starts. Dark PhoeniX might be there.

To clarify, I am not stating this is a fact, but rather a rumor I'm hearing. Again the following is a RUMOR.

The trailer we may be getting may also serve as a vessel for an announcement of sorts regarding a non-theatrical release.

Again, just a rumor I heard at work.

I know this place is some kind of war zone right now, but i wanted to share my experience. I talked with someone who said watched an earlier version of the movie and said it was pretty good. Not perfect, but still a movie focused in the characters, with romance and humor, but still dark. She gave it 8/10. i really hope this is true. I talked to this girl many times and she was right before with some of my favorite movies, like Logan. Again, if you dont believe me that is totally fine. Wish you guys a nice day. (Excuse my bad english, please)

Someone told me a announcement of the movie on Disney+ this Thursday is possible.
Hard to believe in anything right now! Everything is a mess :ebr:

Disney doesn't like the movie.

A non theaterical release? Thats good!

I'm not saying it for sure won't happen but why would Disney announce a theatrical release like 2 weeks ago to just reveal a little bit later that it's not being released in theaters at all? And doing that will piss off all the theater vendors at Cinemacom

It would be weird for any studio, but especially Disney.

Again I could be wrong but that doesnt make sense.

And I still don't understand why it's good for it not to get a theatrical release? I mean the movie will still come out... I think some of y'all are being weird about this whole thing

Edit: actually it wasn't even 2 weeks ago, it was barely a week ago that Disney confirmed the theatrical release. If there was even a chance it would go to streaming why would Disney promote the movie and then switch it 5 days later

I can't really provide much in the form of answers to the issues that you've brought up, all I can really say for sure is that there is a very high level of uncertainty among my co-workers regarding the fate of the movie, like never before. There are a ton of rumors going around, some way more outlandish than others. Some rumors I've heard include:

1.That the Disney execs still haven't decided what to do with the movie.

2.That the movie will be delayed again until October.

3.That it'll be released on a streaming service in less than a month in May.

4.That execs have decided to put on Disney+ or Hulu.

5. That it will be released in theatres on schedule.

And that's just a very small portion of the rumors & speculation I've been hearing.

Personally I think that a final decision has been made, but something is causing a delay in the news passing down through the proper channels.. But that's just a guess on my part.

You dismantle your own argument, Disney and Lucas were not competitors and are kept separate just for practicality and brand awareness. Same as Pixar.
Just wait until Marvel produces X-Men without the Fox logo anywhere to be seen: producers deals (Shuler-Donner and Kinsberg) are separate from studios.
Well looky here. I bet the Disney’s lawyers informed the Disney’s executives that moving the X-Men to Marvel Studio will have severe legal ramifications.

X-Men Won't Appear in MCU for "Very Long Time"

Disney also said they were going to make an Inhumans movie.... Gambit attended SdCc 2016 and there's no movie yet. Things can always change.

Unless we get a surprise new trailer with Dark Phoenix, I'm still doubting this ever being ready for a theatrical release in August. Every time someone keeps insisting this is still getting a theatrical release, this is my response:

Won't appear for at least five years?!?! OMG that is bleeping hilarious! ROTFL.... If you only knew..

And for the record, Disney can play with their new toys whenever they so choose. No legal ramifications.

All this MCU vs Fox fanboy stuff is really, really, really silly. Sure we all have differing opinions on the different movies, & we may disagree with some of these opinions, but we should all at the very least have enough maturity to at least respect other people's opinions & beliefs, and not just try to label each other as one thing or another.

After all, in the end we're all just fans of Marvel characters in general. Can't we all just get along?

Okay, you’re right

Thank you my friend! You & I may have just become the very first two people in the entire history of the internet to simply respect each others opinions! This is a grand accomplishment! We should seriously get Nobel peace Prize's for this!

This is an exciting time to be a fan of the New Mutants. Regardless of how the movie sees release, I would encourage anyone who is a fan of the characters to forget about any prejudices they may have regarding the studio, the delays, casting, the backstage drama, etc and give the movie a shot. While it wasn't my cup of tea, you might just enjoy it.
