Mystery/Thriller New 'Scarface' Movie

He should be Tony "something" if they're going to use the name Scarface.

not really...Scarface was the nickname of Al Capone...who the first movie was about

I don't even know how this is gonna work.

I think this remake will just exist, but won't stay too long in pop culture land.

It seems at first unnecessary, but the De Palma version took the outline of the original and threw in it's own two cents, making it a worthy effort. That's what this one will have to do, otherwise, yeah, it'll just exist.

Sounds kinda bad but I'd say if they cast Oscar Isaac they could get somewhere.

Just the fact this does sound kinda lame makes me think some of the higher profile talent might be scared away from taking part though?

I laugh at people who complain about remakes destroying Hollywood

Fixed :woot:

Tony Montana is also very much an 80's movie while the original was a product of its time as well, based loosely on Al Capone. A modern reinterpretation couldn't hurt me personally. The main story is timeless though.

That's what Hollywood is about: money. I'm surprised by how many people complain about this when that's all it is. The business of entertainment.

people don't realize that Hollywood doesn't control us...we control them..thy are chasing out dollars...we, as an audience, don't go see new films...we see films that are remakes or based on a childhood cartoon/comic property.
If the audience doesn't continue to pump money into remakes and sequels, Hollywood wouldn't make them

We have entered the territory of the Remake of a remake of a remake. Oh, Hollywood. You so silly.

Anyway, wasn't Michelle Pfeiffer's character pregnant? Following the footsteps of his old man wouldn't be a bad idea to look into, but I will wait for the dvd. Lawd.

This is nothing..look at how many times Dracula has been remade.

"Her womb is so polluted, I can't even have a ****ing kid with her."

I think that this isnt actually a bad idea.

From what I read, It's not going to be a rehash of the Tony Montana story per say. It'll just follow the themes of an immigrant rising to power which was what happned in the Pacino version and the original.

So as long as it's not Tony Montana. I'm fine with this. Unfortunately everyone is just gonna assume that theyre just messing with the Tony Montana story which, again from what I read, is just not true at all.

I say instead of doing a Mexican version, they should do Japanese, Jamaican, Haitian or somethiing

A huge sign that this shouldn't even happen.

Well, Ben Affleck's schedule just opened up. Maybe he can do it.

Should be Riz Ahmed coming over as a Muslim refugee.

Instead of cocaine, he builds an empire from violence in the opioids, heroin, molly game.

Set it in Philly, have him go to war with the black gangs over movin' dat work!

Riz is youthful enough where a sick performance could be magnified by how baby faced he is.

They're just asking for a critical pan by moving forward with this project.

They get their lead in sight and Fuqua leaves the project. This thing will never get made.

Anyone see me (Sam Jackson) on Kimmel and ask, ''Would you like to see Leo Dicaprio remake that?''
