New Superman Retuns: TMG interview.

EA is the DEVIL!!

I need this game though. Oh, how I need this game.

The old E.A is was the devil. We have the new E.A now. :o

EA is in some ways improving from the "PlayStation" EA of the recently passed days.

While I have faith in some of EA Montreal's (headed by the project lead of the original SplinterCell) projects, along with Superman, Crysis, Army of Two, The Elder Scrolls styled LOTR and the Speilberg projects, they still have a lot of fat to cut, and I mean ENTIRE teams.

EALA (Goldeneye Rogue Agent, MoH copy and pastes) must die, same with Eurocom (Batman Begins, CrapWoman) and plenty of others, too.

Let's not forget Everything or Nothing, that Bond game owned.

That's what is hilarious at his excuse he made, if the movie had nothing else, it had mucho marketing behind it.

Agreed 100%. I don't know though if i want him to return at the helm of director. Right now he's just saying BS things that aren't needed. Even though he cares about this franshise he seems the only one to direct. To add to that he's the only one saying there'll be a sequel, WB hasn't said anything. I do want a sequel but i really hope they elevate it a bit. for all we know the cast might return but Singer might not.

Can I have any quotes what singer said?

It's funny though how he left x men and all and everyone was saying how x3 was gonna be ''teh bomb and superman is gonna r0xx0rz''. I wish I didn't get so much glee from it failing , but in the face of x men 3 haters and people who jumped on the supes bandwagon, I can't help but enjoy it.

Well I can enjoy the actual movie of Superman Returns over X-men 3.

Primarily because it's a much better movie.

Me too, personally I thought that X3 was a rush hack job of a movie. Not fit to be called an X-Men movie. Especially since they totally screwed up the Dark Pheonix for their own twisted pleasure. :down

With my gripes of SR, I still mostly enjoyed the movie, which is more than I can say for X3.

Not really. It's just because you are on the ''omg x3 suxxorz'' bandwagon.

I wasn't even comparing the two movies, but at least X3 didn't flop. Now you have Singer making bull**** excuses why it flopped. It had a hell of a bigger marketing campaign than both Pirates and X Men but didn't perform any one billionth as well.

I was just trying to point out realistically, there won't be a superman sequel any time soon. You will see a van helsing sequel before you see that. I'm tired of comparing x3 to superman every time I say somethin g about superman returns. I think x3 was awesome and sr looked like generic trash, you think the opposite, and enjoy the flop more than x3. Why do we have to keep rehashing that?

I was just trying to say don't get your hopes up, thats all, not trying to start another pointless debate we wont agree on.

What is it with you and overstatements? "Flop"? Yeah, right.

Even worse, you let that sway your opinion. "Uh, it made more money, so it must be better! Wow!" No. Rotten Tomatoes has Superman Returns so far above X-men 3 it's embarassing to see the series take such a downturn.

X-men 3 is a lousy movie, nothing you ever say will convince me otherwise. The movie is just bad. I don't care how many stupid kids went to the movie.

Dude, I dont want to convince you....if you were brainwashed to jump on the anti x3 bandwagon, there's no point since aint it crap has got their claws into you already.

As for flopping.,...when your film hasnt goe into profit in about four weeks on release domestically, its a faliure. Why do you think even Bryan singer admits its failed, albeit by trying to blame everyone else? How do you explain that?

Money didn't sway my opinion by the way. X3 is a FAR superior movie. Better plot, acting, effects, writing and direction....did that cover it all? Its just super sweet that its financial sucess ****s over all the haters while supes bombs.

You're a joke.

Just wondering, has Harry Knowles branded you yet?

But yeah, when you're scrambling to prove supes was a sucess, yet the director is calling it a faliure himself, that's pretty desperate man.

All I know is in the next year or two I will be enjoying a wolverine spin off, and Bryan Singer will drown his woes about superman failing with booze and crying himself to sleep every night in the arms of a slightly underaged rent boy, so enjoy.

I'd like to see proof that Singer said it was a failure.

I pity you. You think X3 is better than Superman Returns because it made more money. That's insane. Monetary success does not equal quality filmmaking. King Kong was a good film but did not perform as expected. Do you know how many films have flopped in the box office but are critically acclaimed? Mask of the Phantasm made barely 1 million but has few to no bad reviews. X3 on the other had got trashed but made millions in the BO. It shows people are really stupid and would rather be entertained by boring, pointless plots and crappy storytelling than watch a film with actual substance.

I don't know what X3 movie you were watching...X3 should've been the best of the trilogy but instead it turned out to be XXX with muties.

It had no heart when it should've had plenty.

"I'm the Juggernaut, *****!!"...wow, great writing.

You would have to ask Braniac....Im pretty sure he's the guy who said it in a summary what singer said, and some other people said they had seen the article themselves. Im waiting to see it myself personally, but why would someone lie about it?

And no. X3 making money shows that people aren't sheep who let REVIEWS tell them what they should and shouldnt like, that they can form their own opinions, whereas people who only listen to reviewers seem to be much more easier led and told what to do. And in case you're a ****ing ****** and missed it first five billion times I said it, x3 making more is NOT the reason I like it better. Its just icing on the cake. How clearly do you want it? I don'tt hink I can break it down to you any easier, Peter Griffin.

ACTUALLY, I THINK THAT WAS MORE OF AN INSULT TO PETER GRIFFIN. :O

You brought it up, so you should be able to support it.

Oh yeah, everyone who thinks X3 sucks is a sheep to the critics  Please, you sound like SumOfGod. I saw X3, it was dissappointing and the more you rave it the more I hate it. Whenever I see you raving about X3, it's always, and I do mean always, about the numbers. Other than its financial success, I don't think you've said anything good about the film itself. Probably because there is nothing good about it.

Yeah well I can believe Bryan Singer said it. I will do some research though and get back to you.

People who thought x3 sucks usually fit into three catorgories:

critics *****es

aint it cools *****es

and bryan singers *****es

occassionallly people seem tohave legitimate reason to hate it but thats like 1 in every four haters.

as for me not saying anything else? You obviously never visited my threads in the x3 forum, and you somehow missed the post about 3 above your current one where I say that x3 has great writing, direction, acting ,and whatnot. Its on this page. Look up a little.

I dont know why you and whf are getting your panties into a bunch. Your both cool most of the time. I didnt say anything untrue, I just said its under performed and their probaly WONT be a sequel. Thats not slander or lies, its just the truth. I didnt start the x3 superman debate again, he did.

Bryan Singer received a variety of responses at the San Diego Comic-Con. From fans at panels to journalists asking him questions, everyone seemed to have an opinion they wanted to offer to him personally. I got a chance to talk with Singer for four minutes and 11 seconds.

Newsarama: Superman Returns of course, will make plenty of money. The DVD is going to be monstrous. But it seems it’s not as successful as everyone wanted it to be or as successful as people wanted it to be.

Bryan Singer: Domestically. Internationally it has so far exceeded our expectations. I was personally surprised because it is an American superhero. Compared to my experiences with the X-Men movies I feel disproportioned. The strangest surprise has definitely been the international gross.

NRAMA: What happened in America?

BS: In my personal estimation I felt it was an issue with the marketing. You’ve got a dense summer and you’re resurrecting a character. There’s a different kind of approach you’ve got to take when you bring in something new. Even though he’s Superman and the character is ubiquitous, a Superman movie is a very new thing and it has to be presented in a new way. So a lot of that burden falls on the kind of presentation it is given.

NRAMA: I was really surprised that the plot of Superman Returns mirrored the plot of Donner’s Superman movie so much.

BS: It takes you on the same journey that the original one did but as an adult which was quite intentional. Right down to him sinking in the water. It is not remaking the first one but I wanted to take the audience on the same kind of journey as the first one but with a mature guy who’s going through a dilemma that wasn’t in the first one. It’s in the marketing. I don’t know how to specifically qualify but it has to be understood how to present something that hasn’t been around for a while. The last Superman, Superman IV, in its American release made 15 million dollars. It is still something new and it has to be launched on the flip side of the other movies of its ilk.

NRAMA: After he gave up his powers in Superman II, Lois and Superman slept together. I’m going to assume that that’s when he got her pregnant…

BS: Possibly.

NRAMA: Then he gives her the kiss, which made her forget that they even slept together. Was the pregnancy a mystery for her?

BS: I ignored that part. I just assumed she remembered sleeping with him.

Here you are, and it has some other interesting things as to continuity issues. :)
