Apparently Sony is looking, and Sam isnt sure if he will direct, or write and produce...

Any suggestions on who you'd like to see step in as a writer?

Didn't they get Koepp? Did them looking for a writer news come from Comic-Con?

Guess I am out of the loop.

Sam Raimi and Stan Lee - Story
JMS - Dialogue

you're all going to hate me for that, aren't you?

JMS may be great for the Surfer movie, but LEAVE HIM OUT OF MY SPIDER-MAN MOVIES!!!

HIS SPIDEY RUN IS AN ABOMINATION!!!

It's on the front page.

Apparently they were only in talks with Koepp...i guess it didnt pan out.

Haven't been to the front page all day.

As for writers, I don't know. Let's get Raimi back first.

There are just so many bad writers out there who can miss the mark for years and then come out of nowhere and write a great script. I don't think we can name a writer whom we know 100% would actually be right for a 4th Spider-Man......spice it up...bring in P. Jackson or Cameron..what do they have to lose at this point?

We won't get a Jackson or Cameron. I can guarantee it :o

I just really like his characterization of Peter, M.J., and May. The story would have been decided by Stan and Sam...So he would just write the dialogue...But I guess that's still "tainting" the script to some people.

Peter David I would be alright with as well. Since he wrote the book versions of the first three movies, I think he would know better than anyone else how to continue the series.

Peter David would do fine I think.

JMS would probably throw in some Spider-Gods crap :o

No, I'm saying that he wouldn't be writing the story...Only the dialogue....He wouldn't be able to change the story.

JMS would add his own touches. I just couldn't see him going by the book on the story.

Jackson and Cameron are both in heavily production of their own projects right now. They won't be open for a while, and I doubt they'd want to do Spider-Man(despite Jame's first try)

Cool, at least we're getting SOME news.....I hope Raimi directs SO badly.

Same here man.

I would lose many reservations I would have about SM4 if I heard that tidbit of news.

I think the article pretty much confirms that if Raimi doesn't direct, he's going to stay on as producer. He seems pretty committed to making some kind of contribution to SM4.

Yeah, he will at least produce it seems. I think he wants to direct, since he discusses working with the writer to make it right for him to direct.

I think this is a step in the right direction for his return

Hopefully Sam will be director but if He isn't, then He should be producer. But it sounds like He wants to return as Director which is a great thing IMO.
