If Sam Raimi takes about a year break from Spider-Man and is able to start fresh with Tobey Maguire then I think a Spider-Man 4 could be great (although a new screen writer would be welcome) just tell Maguire to be more mature and serious. He can talk smack when fighting the bad guy but lets keep the one liners in the battle.
P.S. Raimi's movies didn't have a supporting cast? Say what, again?
Raimi should stay!
Arad should go!
Peter didn't have a life in those movies. Damn, we get he has problems, but does his life have to be so ****in miserable? I have problems paying bills, but I can still talk to my friends, laugh, and be a smart ass too. Not have EVERY scene be awkward between Peter and whoever he talks to. Talking to MJ has been awkward since the 2nd movie and Harry's been off the deep end since the 1st one.
Where's Randy? Felicia? Gloria? Debbie? Flash? Liz? and so forth. These are all people he, Gwen, Harry, and MJ should have been interacting with on a regular basis.
And where's the super agility for crying out loud? That's one of Spider-Man's most visually appealing attributes. All we get is one somersault here and there once in a while. I wanted to see Spider-Man back flipping all over the place, dodging tentacles, I didn't get that once. Instead I got Spider-Man face to face with Ock in a boxing match. In all honestly Spider-Man should've landed only one punch on Dr. Octopus, and that should've been at the end of the movie, in slow motion, for full effect.
Maby we should see how other directors can do with it, just do one film. Harry Potter has like 4 different directors, and all the movies made a **** load of money. I wouldn't mind having Raimi back, but getting a new director wouldn't be bad either. IMO new directors always want to do a better job with than previous films, so i doubt a new director would screw up a huge franchise like SM, to me it's a win/win situationto me it doesnt make any sense that some people praise the guy for the first 2 films and he messes up once and then everybody turns on him...bashin him like hell but when the first 2 came out everyone was on his nuts...i say keep him, not everyone is perfect

I won't try arguing Peter not having a sense of humor or being less awkward, as that you have a point with (albeit I don't full agree with what you're saying). As for the rest of the supporting cast. I actually support streamlining it to mostly being MJ (not necessarily how she was written), Harry, Aunt May and JJJ with Robbie, Betty and Dr. Conners having small little fun parts.
I mean if you make it too big, with too many characters it either becomes an ensemble piece or overstuffed and not focused. SM1 and SM2 narrowed it (and Flash had a small part in that and Norman and Uncle Ben were present) and it worked. You simply cannot have long meandering subplots with numerous supporting characters. If you do that it would just get top-heavy. Look no further than SM3 when they added Eddie Brock and Gwen Stacy to minimal effect. It was just too much. You have to keep it simple in a film. Otherwise SM3 type problems will appear. That is the difference between 2 and 3 (well one of them).
As for agility. Meh, I thought Spidey moved pretty damn beautifully in SM2 and SM3. In fact I have no complaints whatsoever with Spidey's agility. I do wish there 3-4 more quips in SM2 as it would have brought out his Spidey personality much better, but oh well.
